Universal Music has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Beside Bowie: The Mick Ronson Story. The album features tracks from guitar virtuoso Mick Ronson’s solo records, as well as material from his key collaborations with David Bowie, Elton John, Ian Hunter, Michael Chapman and Queen. Also included is a previously unreleased cover version of This Is For You by Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and a piano tribute to Ronson from Bowie’s piano-man and band alumni Mike Garson. Four new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the action adventure Rampage directed by Brad Peyton and starring Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, P.J. Byrne and Marley Shelton. The film’s original music is composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and a new track by Kid Cudi. Also opening wide is Blumhouse’s supernatural thriller Truth or Dare directed by Jeff Wadlow and starring Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, Violett Beane, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto and Sophia Taylor Ali. Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service & The Golden Circle, Eddie the Eagle, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) has composed the film’s original music. Varese Sarabande has announced a limited-edition box set for the anthology series Jim Henson’s The Storyteller. The 3-CD set features selections of the original music from the show and its spinoff series Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Greek Myths composed by Academy Award winner Rachel Portman (Emma, The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, The Manchurian Candidate, A Dog’s Purpose).
