Toydrum (aka Pablo Clements and James Griffith) (Detour, Prevenge, Future World) have been hired to score the British comedy A Guide to Second Date Sex. The film marks the directorial debut of Rachel Hirons (Powder Room) and stars George MacKay, Emma Rigby, Holli Dempsey, Kae Alexander, Tom Bell and Michael Socha. The movie is based on Hirons’ own play and follows two young people who, having been bruised by previous relationships, embark on a second date with no idea of what they are supposed to do. 21st Century Concerts and Film Concerts Live have announced the world premiere performance of How to Train Your Dragon – In Concert, with the film’s original score composed by John Powell (Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Bourne Identity, X-Men: The Last Stand, Rio) performed live to picture by a full symphony orchestra and chorus. The concerts will take place on November 30 and December 1 & 2, 2018 at the KKL Luzern Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1983 adventure movie Nate and Hayes directed by Ferdinand Fairfax and starring Tommy Lee Jones, Michael O’Keefe, Max Phipps and Jenny Seagrove. The album features the expanded original score from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Labyrinth, Highlander, From Hell), including around 40 minutes of previously unreleased music, plus alternate and source cues. The 2-CD set is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and the track list.

Harry Escott is reuniting with director Michael Winterbottom on the upcoming drama The Wedding Guest. The film is written and directed by Winterbottom (Wonderland, The Claim) and stars Dev Patel, Sidhu Manpreet, Nish Nathwani, Radhika Apte and Jim Sarbh. The movie follows a mysterious, young British man on his journey across Pakistan and India. Melissa Parmenter is producing the project with Deepak Nayar (Lost Highway, Bend It Like Beckham). The show is developed by Patrick Somervile, directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Jane Eyre, Sin Nombre) and stars Emma Stone, Jonah Hill, Sonoya Mizuno, Justin Theroux, Julia Garner and Sally Field. Premiering tomorrow, August 6, is the AMC original series Lodge 49 created by Jim Gavin and starring Wyatt Russell, Brent Jennings, Sonya Cassidy, Linda Emond, David Pasquesi and Eric Allan Kramer. The show’s original music is composed by Andrew Carroll. The series is set in Long Beach, California and centers on a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business. The drama will air Monday nights on AMC. Premiering in the U.S. on Tuesday, August 7, is the Canadian drama Carter created by Garry Campbell and starring Jerry O’Connell, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Varun Saranga, Matt Baram, Kristian Bruun and Brenda Kamino. Ian LeFeuvre (Burden of Truth, The Detail) and Ari Posner (Flashpoint, Anne with an E) are composing the show’s original music. The series follows a television actor who returns to his small hometown after a public meltdown and partners with his detective friend to use his acting experience to solve real crimes. Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D, Dynasty) is reteaming with director Errol Morris on the upcoming documentary American Dharma. The movie is being described as a dialogue between the Academy Award-winning filmmaker and Donald Trump’s former strategist Steve Bannon. Leonard-Morgan has previously collaborated with Morris (The Fog of War, The Thin Blue Line, Standard Operating Procedure) on the feature The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography and last year’s Netflix docu-series Wormwood. Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the family drama Christopher Robin directed by Marc Forster and starring Ewan McGregor, Hayley Atwell, Bronte Carmichael, Mark Gatiss, Jim Cummings, Chris O’Dowd, Brad Garrett and Sophie Okonedo. The film’s original score is composed by Geoff Zanelli (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No TalesDisturbia) & Jon Brion (Lady BirdMagnolia). Also opening wide is the action comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me co-written and directed by Susanna Fogel and starring Mila Kunis, Kate McKinnon, Justin Theroux, Gillian Anderson, Hasan Minhaj, Ivanna Sakhno and Sam Heughan. Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, Watchmen, John Wick) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been released.
