Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1995 sci-fi horror thriller Species directed by Roger Donaldson and starring Natasha Henstridge, Ben Kingsley, Michael Madsen, Forest Whitaker, Alfred Molina and Marg Helgenberger. The 2-CD set features the original music from the film composed by Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Hellraiser, Drag Me to Hell, The Shipping News, Ghost Rider, Sinister, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Hurricane) and conducted by Pete Anthony, including the complete original score (including previously unreleased music) in chronological order on the first disc, as well the content of the label’s world premiere soundtrack album for the title (released back in 2008) on the second disc. Deadline is reporting that Grammy Award-nominated electronic music artist Zhu and composer Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Only the Brave, The Greatest Showman, Straight Outta Compton, Shadow and Bone, Tron: Uprising, No One Will Save You) are attached to score the upcoming action thriller He Bled Neon. The film marks the feature directorial debut of music video filmmaker Drew Kirsch and will star Joe Cole as a man who – after the mysterious death of his estranged brother – travels to Las Vegas for the funeral and unravels a dark web of crime, forcing him to confront his past.
