Alejandro Amenábar has composed the original music for his upcoming Spanish/Argentine war drama While at War (Mientras Dure La Guerra). The movie is co-written and directed by Amenábar and stars Karra Elejalde, Eduard Fernández, Santi Prego, Luis Bermejo, Tito Valverde and Nathalie Poza. The film set in the first months of the Spanish Civil War and tracks the country’s slide into nearly four decades of fascism under dictator Francisco Franco. ‘Love, Gilda’ Soundtrack Released

Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Love, Gilda. The album features the film’s original score composed by Miriam Cutler (RBG, The Hunting Ground, Dark Money) who has recently received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her work on the project. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Love, Gilda is directed by Lisa D’Apolito and centers on performer Gilda Radner and her childhood, her comedy career, her relationships and ultimately, her struggles with cancer. Premiering tomorrow, August 12 is The Terror: Infamy, the second season of the AMC anthology series The Terror, created by Alexander Woo & Max Borenstein and starring Derek Mio, Kiki Sukezane, Cristina Rodlo, Shingo Usami, Naoko Mori, Miki Ishikawa and George Takei. The show’s original music is composed by Mark Korven (The Witch, Cube, Our House, Awakening the Zodiac). Premiering on Thursday, August 15, is the CBS All Access original series Why Women Kill created by Marc Cherry and starring Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Alexandra Daddario, Jack Davenport, Sadie Calvano, Reid Scott and Sam Yaeger. Instrumental Version of ‘Aladdin’ Soundtrack Released

Walt Disney Records has released a new soundtrack album for the live-action adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin. The album features instrumental versions of all the songs from the movie composed by Alan Menken (with lyrics by Howard Ashman & Tim Rice and Benj Pasek & Justin Paul). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Five new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the family adventure Dora and the Lost City of Gold directed by James Bobin and starring Isabela Moner, Eugenio Derbez, Michael Peña, Eva Longoria, Nicholas Coombe and Madeleine Madden. The film’s original score is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2, The Jungle Book) & Germaine Franco (Tag, Dope). Entertainment One Music will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream, A Quiet Place, Logan, World War Z, The Hurt Locker) and Anna Drubrich. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 30 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is set to come out on November 1 and is available to order here. The album features the film’s original music composed by electronic music artist Shlohmo (aka Henry Laufer) who made his feature film scoring debut on the project.
