Decca and Republic Records have announced the official soundtrack album for the biographical drama Judy. The album features a newly recorded version of Judy Garland’s Get Happy performed by lead actress Renée Zellweger and Sam Smith and new rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas performed by Zellweger and Rufus Wainwright. Also included are such Garland classics as For Once in My Life, Come Rain or Come Shine and Over the Rainbow. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on September 27. The CD and vinyl versions will be available for pre-order here within the next few days. Judy is directed by Rupert Goold and stars Zellweger in the title role, alongside Jessie Buckley, Finn Wittrock, Rufus Sewell and Michael Gambon. Jocelyn Pook (Eyes Wide Shut, The Wife, The Merchant of Venice, Brick Lane) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary The Kingmaker. The film is directed by Lauren Greenfield (The Queen of VersaillesGeneration Wealth) and centers on Filipino politician and former First Lady Imelda Marcos, who, despite disgrace, remains unbowed and enmeshed in her nation’s politics. Marcos became First Lady of the Philippines in 1965 and still lives as if she possesses the role. Greenfield is also producing the Evergreen Pictures production with Frank Evers. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by ToyDrum (aka Pablo Clements and James Griffith) (Prevenge, This Is England ’90, London Fields, Detour). Also included is the title song Static performed by Beth Orton who also co-wrote the track with the composers. Edward Shearmur (Charlie’s Angels, Miss Congeniality, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Johnny English) has recently scored the new Netflix original movie Falling Inn Love. The film is directed by Roger Kumble (Just Friends) and stars Christina Milian, Adam Demos and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman. The romantic comedy revolves around a San Francisco exec who wins a New Zealand inn and ditches city life to remodel and flip the rustic property with help from a handsome contractor.
