Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the thriller The Rhythm Section directed by Reed Morano and starring Blake Lively, Jude Law and Sterling K. Brown. The film’s original score is composed by Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, Bullet to the Head, Ice Box) and produced by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, The Lion King, Inception). Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Whale Rider) provided additional music. No soundtrack album has been released. Check out our previous article to learn more about the Paramount Pictures release.

Also opening wide is the fantasy horror movie Gretel & Hansel directed by Osgood Perkins and stars Sophia Lillis, Sammy Leakey, Charles Babalola, Alice Krige and Jessica De Gouw. Rob (Maniac, Revenge, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium) has composed the film’s original music. Waxwork Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. ELEET Music Group has released the original song Don’t Wish Your Life Away from the supernatural horror thriller Fantasy Island. The track is written and performed by Jared Lee. The song is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon. Listen to the full track after the jump. Fantasy Island is directed by Jeff Wadlow and stars Michael Peña, Maggie Q, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Jimmy O. Yang, Portia Doubleday, Ryan Hansen and Michael Rooker. Nima Fakhrara (The Signal, Detroit: Become Human, The Pyramid, The Girl in the Photographs) has been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Becky. The film is directed by Jonathan Milott & Cary Murnion (Bushwick, Cooties) and stars Kevin James, Lulu Wilson, Joel McHale, Amanda Brugel and Robert Maillet. The movie follows a spunky, rebellious 14-year-old brought to a weekend getaway by her father in an effort to try to reconnect after her mother’s death, when a group of convicts on the run suddenly invade the lake house. Back Lot Music has released the original song Fade Away from the romantic drama The Photograph. The song is performed by Lucky Daye. The Photograph is written and directed by Stella Meghie and stars Issa Rae, LaKeith Stanfield, Chanté Adams, Y’lan Noel, Rob Morgan, Lil Rel Howery and Courtney B. Vance. The movie revolves around the estranged daughter of a famed photographer who finds a photograph tucked away in a safe-deposit box that is found after her mother’s death and finds herself on a journey delving into her mother’s early life. ‘SamSam’ Soundtrack Released

22D Music has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature SamSam. The album features the film’s original music composed by Eric Neveux (The Insult, The Attack, A Stork’s Journey, Zombillennium, Spirou & Fantasio’s Big Adventures). Also included is the original song Cosmic Groove written by Benny Adam & John Mamann and performed by Lucie Vagenheim. The soundtrack is now available to download/stream on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. A CD version is also being released overseas. SamSam directed by Tanguy De Kermel is based on the comic books of the same title created by Serge Bloch and the animated TV series of the same title and follows the title character as he is conscientiously seeking his first-ever superpower but is winding up empty-handed every time. Kris Bowers (Green Book, Dear White People, When They See Us, Monsters and Men) has been tapped to score the upcoming FX limited series Mrs. America. The show is written by Dahvi Waller (Mad Men) and stars Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Sarah Paulson, Margo Martindale, Uzo Aduba, Elizabeth Banks and Tracey Ullman. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Rob Lane (John Adams, Merlin, A Discovery of Witches, The Damned United, Atlantis). Cobra is written by Ben Richards and stars Robert Carlyle, Victoria Hamilton, Richard Dormer, David Haig, Marsha Thomason and Lucy Cohu. ‘Dragonheart: Vengeance’ Soundtrack Details

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure Dragonheart: Vengeance. The album features the film’s orginal music composed by Mark McKenzie (The Greatest Miracle, Blizzard, The Ultimate Gift) who has previously scored the last three Dragonheart movies, A New Beginning, A Sorcerer’s Curse and Battle for the Heartfire. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 4 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version will be released by Intrada Records. Dragonheart: Vengeance is directed by Ivan Silvestini and stars Joseph Millson, Jack Kane, Arturo Muselli, Carolina Carlsson and Richard Ashton, as well as Helena Bonham Carter as the ice breathing dragon Siveth. Capitol Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. The album features the songs from the film by artists such as CYN, Chaz Cardigan, Bad Child, Sofi Tukker, Marina, OTR, Hey Violet, The New Respects & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 7 (click here to download) and on CD on April 17. A vinyl edition is set to come out on May 22. Check back on this page for the pre-order links. A soundtrack album has been released for the Australian TV series Les Norton. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Richard Pike (Romper Stomper). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Les Norton is based on Robert G. Barrett’s books of the same titles stars Alexander Bertrand, David Wenham, Rebel Wilson, Rhys Muldoon, Hunter Page-Lochard and Steve Le Marquand. The drama is set in 1985 and centers on a country bloke from outback Queensland on the run from a troubled past, as he blows into Sydney where he lands a job as a bouncer at an illegal casino.
