Premiering tonight is the Showtime mini-series The Comey Rule written and directed by Billy Ray and starring Jeff Daniels, Brendan Gleeson, Holly Hunter, Michael Kelly, Jennifer Ehle, Jonathan Banks, Scoot McNairy, Oona Chaplin, Steven Pasquale, Peter Coyote, Amy Seimetz and Kingsley Ben-Adir. The show’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph). Premiering on Wednesday, September 30 is the Netflix documentary American Murder: The Family Next Door directed by Jenny Popplewell and executive produced by James Marsh. Nainita Desai (For Sama, Telling Lies, Enemy Within, Fierce Queens, Enslaved) has composed the film’s original music. Morgan Kibby (aka White Sea) (Girls of the Sun, Bang Gang (A Modern Love Story), The Short History of the Long Road) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Grand Army. The show is created by Katie Cappiello based on her stage play Slut: The Play and stars Odessa A’zion, Amalia Yoo, Jayson Jackson, Amir Bageria and Odley Jean. The teen drama follows five students at the largest public high school in Brooklyn as they take on a chaotic world as they fight to succeed, survive, break free and seize the future. A soundtrack album has been released for the documentary Mighty Ira. The album features the film’s original music composed by Scott McRae & Ryan Rapsys (Little Pink House, Can We Take a Joke?). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Mighty Ira is directed by Nico Perrino, Aaron Reese & Chris Maltby and centers on Ira Glasser who – as the leader of the American Civil Liberties Union for 23 years – has transformed the organization from a small, “mom-and-pop” operation on the verge of bankruptcy into a civil liberties juggernaut with offices in every state and a $30 million endowment. ‘Angelica’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the gothic drama Angelica. The album features the film’s original music written by Golden Globe-nominated composer Zbigniew Preisner (Three Colors, The Secret Garden, When a Man Loves a Woman, The Queen of Spain). Opening nationwide this weekend is the drama The Last Shift written and directed by Andrew Cohn and starring Richard Jenkins, Shane Paul McGhie, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Birgundi Baker, Allison Tolman and Ed O’Neill. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Orton (Nebraska, The Good Girl, My Old Lady). No soundtrack album has been announced. Opening in over 500 theaters this weekend is the crime comedy Kajillionaire written and directed by Miranda July and starring Evan Rachel Wood, Gina Rodriguez, Richard Jenkins and Debra Winger. Emile Mosseri (The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Minari, Homecoming) has composed the film’s original music. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the Mr. Lonely cover by himself & Angel Olsen, which is also available separately as a digital single. Interscope Records & Mosley Music have released the first song from the soundtrack for Justin Baldoni’s musical drama Clouds. Wild Life written by Ryan Tedder, Brent Kutzle & John Nathaniel and performed by OneRepublic is now available to stream/download as a digital single on Amazon. Shigeru Umebayashi (In the Mood for Love, House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden Flowers, The Grandmaster) has composed the original music for the new Chinese sports drama Leap (Duo Guan). The film is directed by Peter Ho-Sun Chan (The Warlords, Dragon) and stars Gong Li, Huang Bo, Wu Gang, Peng Yuchang and Bai Lang. The movie tells the true story of the women’s national volleyball team of China and legendary volleyball coach Lang Ping who lead the rival U.S. team at the 2008 Beijing Volleyball Game and later returned to her own country to coach the Chinese team. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Monsterland. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, Narcos: Mexico, The Motorcycle Diaries, The Last of Us, The Book of Life). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, October 2 and is now available for pre-order here.
