Nate Heller has provided the original score for the upcoming horror comedy Nightbitch. The film is written and directed by Marielle Heller and stars Amy Adams, Scoot McNairy, Arleigh Patrick Snowden, Zoë Chao, Emmett James Snowden, Archana Rajan, Mary Holland and Jessica Harper. The movie is based on Rachel Yoder’s debut novel of the same title and tells the story of a woman thrown into the stay-at-home routine of raising a toddler in the suburbs, who slowly embraces the feral power deeply rooted in motherhood, as she becomes increasingly aware of the bizarre signs that she may be turning into a canine. ‘Anthracite’ Soundtrack Album Released

440Hz has released a soundtrack album for the French Netflix limited series Anthracite. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Judson Crane (Poker Face, Postcard from Earth) and David Quattrini (L’Homme que j’ai condamné). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to a track (Ida’s Theme) from the composers’ score below. Anthracite is created by Fanny Robert, Maxime Berthemy & Mehdi Ouahab and stars Hatik, Noémie Schmidt, Camille Lou, Nicolas Godart, Léo Legrand, Raphaël Ferret and Kad Merad. This past week, Marco Beltrami (Logan, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, A Quiet Place, Ford v. Ferrari, The Hurt Locker, The Wolverine) has been recording his score for the upcoming action thriller The Killer. The film is directed by John Woo (Face/Off, Mission: Impossible 2) and stars Omar Sy, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sam Worthington, Saïd Taghmaoui and Diana Silvers. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi adventure Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes directed by Wes Ball and starring Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, William H. Macy and Peter Macon. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Cheaper by the Dozen, Invincible, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Truth Be Told). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Also opening wide is the comedy Not Another Church Movie written and directed by Johnny Mack and starring Kevin Daniels, Jamie Foxx, Vivica A. Fox, Kyla Pratt, Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guy, Lamorne Morris, Luc Ashley, Buddy Lewis, T’Shaun Barret and Mickey Rourke. Ainz “Brainz” Prasad (Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!) and Ameya Saraf have composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a billionaire talk show host who uses her direct connection to God to demand he deliver a hero to help her plummeting ratings, is being released by Briarcliff Entertainment. Jonny Greenwood has confirmed in a recent interview with The Guardian that he has started work on his score for the next (currently untitled) feature directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The film is written and directed by Anderson (Magnolia, Boogie Nights) and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, Alana Haim, Wood Harris, and Chase Infiniti. No plot details have been announced yet. Anderson is also producing the project with Sara Murphy (If Beale Street Could Talk, Never Rarely Sometime Always) and Adam Somner. The movie is based on John Gardner’s novel of the same name and tells the tale of the legendary monster at the heart of the Beowulf epic poem who steps forth to tell his side of this story.
