Columbia Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Julie and the Phantoms. The album features 15 songs from the musical show performed by the cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 10, 2020 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon. A first song from the series, Edge of Great, performed by is already available now as a digital single. Also listen to the track after the jump. The film is directed by Liesl Tommy and stars Jennifer Hudson as Aretha Franklin, as well as Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Marc Maron, Audra McDonald, Tituss Burgess, Hailey Kilgore, Skye Dakota Turner, Saycon Sengbloh, Heather Headley, Tate Donovan and Mary J. Blige. The movie follows the rise of Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom. The album features songs by the film’s subjects, the late Australian country music legend Slim Dusty and his wife, Joy McKean, as well as tracks by Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers & Bill Chambers, Missy Higgins & others.
