Carter Burwell’s Complete ‘Psycho III’ Score to Be Released

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1986 horror sequel Psycho III directed by Anthony Perkins and starring Perkins himself (as Norman Bates), Diana Scarwid, Jeff Fahey and Roberta Maxwell. The album features the complete original score from the Universal Pictures production composed and arranged by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Fargo, Carol, Twilight, True Grit, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, In Bruges), including over 60 minutes of previously unreleased music. Also included is the content of the the 1986 original soundtrack album, which was released on vinyl by MCA Records. The movie tells the story of the only hearing member of a deaf family as she joins her high school’s choir club and dinds herself drawn to both her duet partner and her latent passion for singing. All3Media & Playground Television have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score when the drama premiered in the UK last year. Also premiering today is the HBO documentary Tiger directed by Matthew Heineman & Matthew Hamachek about the rise, fall, and epic comeback of global icon Tiger Woods. H. Opening in select theaters and virtual cinemas today is the documentary The Reason I Jump directed by Jerry Rothwell. The film’s original music is composed by Nainita Desai (For Sama, American Murder: The Family Next Door, Enslaved, Enemy Within, Telling Lies). Mercury Classics will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on April 16.
