Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Amy, Lord of War, Senna, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind), Gabriel Ferreira & Felipe Kim (The Mechanism) have composed the original score for the new Netflix original documentary Pelé. The film is directed by David Tryhorn & Ben Nicholas and tells the story of iconic footballer Pelé, his quest for perfection and the mythical status he attained. The movie, which features interviews with Pelé himself, Zagallo, Rivellino, Juca Kfouri & Gilberto Gil, looks back at the extraordinary 12-year period in which the football player, the only man to win three World Cup titles, went from young superstar in 1958 to national hero in 1970. Opening in theaters nationwide today following an IMAX-exclusive release over the last three weeks is the drama Nomadland written and directed by Chloe Zhao and starring Frances McDormand, David Strathairn, Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells. The film features (pre-existing) compositions by Ludovico Einaudi (The Intouchables, The Father, Samba). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as tracks by Ólafur Arnalds, Nat King Cole, Cat Clifford, Paul Winer, Donnie Miller & others. Opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British comedy Blithe Spirit directed by Edward Hall and starring Dan Stevens, Isla Fisher, Judi Dench, Leslie Mann, Aimee-ffion Edwards and Emilia Fox. The film’s original score is composed by Simon Boswell (Hackers, Lord of Illusions, Shadow Grave, A Midsummer Night’s Dream). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by artists such as Michael Ball, Imelda May, Shaun Escoffrey, Alfie Boe, Gregory Porter & others earlier this year when the movie premiered in the UK. Disney’s ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ to Feature Original Song ‘Lead the Way’ by Jhené Aiko

Disney announced today that Jhené Aiko has recorded the original song Lead the Way for the studios’ new animated feature Raya and the Last Dragon. The track, which is featured during the movie’s end title sequence, is written and performed by the Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter and will be included on the movie’s official soundtrack album, which also features the film’s original score by James Newton Howard, and will be coming out next Friday, February 26. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, Legion, The Umbrella Academy, The Night Of, The Act). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 19 and will be available to stream/download here. The label has previously released the composer’s score from the first season.
