Jeff Toyne has been tapped to score the upcoming DirecTV original series You Me Her. The show is created by John Scott Shepherd (Life or Something Like It, Joe Somebody) and stars Greg Poehler, Rachel Blanchard, Melanie Papalia & Priscilla Faia. The comedy is inspired by a Playboy Magazine article Sugar on Top by John H. Richardson and centers on the complex dealings and interactions of a group of individuals involved in a three-way relationship. Shepherd is also executive producing the eOne production with Peter Jaysen (Fired Up!), Alan Gasmer (Vikings), Bart Peters, Chris Long, John Morayniss, Armand Leo, and Jocelyn Hamilton.

Soundtrack for Netflix’s ‘Love’ Announced
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the new Netflix original series Love. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Lyle Workman (Superbad, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Win Win, Forgetting Sarah Marshall). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 19, 2016 and physically later this year. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Love is created by Judd Apatow (Trainwreck, Knocked Up), Paul Rust (Pee-wee’s Big Holiday) & Lesley Arfin and stars Rust, Gillian Jacobs, Dave Allen, Steve Bannos, Chris Witaske and singer Chantal Claret. The show follows a nice guy and a brazen wild child as they navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, and other things they were hoping to avoid.
Stephen Malkmus Scoring Netflix’s ‘Flaked’
Will Arnett has announced on Twitter that former Pavement lead singer and guitarist Stephen Malkmus is scoring the upcoming Netflix series Flaked. The show is created by Mark Chappell (The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret) and Arnett who also stars in the comedy with David Sullivan, Ruth Kearney and George Basil. The series follows a celebrated long-time resident of the insular world of Venice, California who falls for the object of his best friend’s fascination. Arnett and Chappell are also executive producing the project with Ben Silverman (The Office, Jane the Virgin), Peter Principato (Married, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp) and Mitch Hurwitz (Arrested Development).

Premiering tonight is the new HBO original series Vinyl created by Terence Winter, executive produced by Martin Scorsese and starring Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, J. C. MacKenzie, P. J. Byrne, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the show’s first season by artists including Sturgill Simpson (who performs the title song), Ty Taylor, David Johansen, Kaleo, Otis Reeding, Ruth Brown & more. Premiering tomorrow, February 15, is the Hulu mini-series 11.22.63 based on Stephen King’s 2011 novel, adapted by show runner Bridget Carpenter and starring James Franco, Sarah Gadon, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Daniel Webber, Chris Cooper, Cherry Jones, George MacKay, Lucy Fry, Jack Fulton and Leon Rippy. Executive producer J.J. Abrams has composed the theme for the opening titles sequence (which can be checked out here) and Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play, The Rite) has composed the show’s original score. ‘The Leftovers’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details
WaterTower Music will release a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series The Leftovers. The album features selections from original music of the show’s second season composed by Max Richter (Waltz with Bashir, Disconnect, Testament of Youth, The Congress). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 19, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s music from the first season. The Leftovers created by Damon Lindelof & Tom Perrotta takes place in the wake of a global “Rapture” and centers on the people who didn’t make the cut and are left behind in a suburban community.
‘The Shannara Chronicles’ Soundtrack Announced
A soundtrack album will be released for the MTV original series The Shannara Chronicles. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Felix Erskine and Lukas Burton (Orphan). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 26, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The end credits tracks is already available to download here. The Shannara Chronicles is based on Terry Brooks’ best-selling fantasy books and stars Poppy Drayton, Ivana Baquero, Austin Butler,James Remar, Brooke Williams, Daniel MacPherson, Marcus Vanco and John Rhys-Davies. The show developed by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar follows an Elvin princess, a human Eretria and an elf-human hybrid on their quest to save the world from an evil demon.
Jarvis Cocker to Score Neil Gaiman’s ‘Likely Stories’
Sky Arts announced today that Jarvis Cocker is composing the music for the upcoming television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Likely Stories. The 4-parter is directed by Iain Forsyth & Jane Pollard (Nick Cave’s 20,000 Days on Earth) and stars Tom Hughes, George MacKay, Johnny Vegas, Kenneth Cranham, Rita Tushingham, Monica Dolan, Paul Ritter, Simon Manyonda, Johann Myers and Montserrat Lombard. The series is based on Gaiman’s London-based short stories Foreign Parts, Feeders & Eaters, Closing Time and Looking For The Girl.
Soundtrack Album for PBS’ ‘Mercy Street’ to Be Released
A soundtrack album will be released for the PBS mini-series Mercy Street. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Town, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Brothers Grimsby). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, February 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mercy Street is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The 6-parter centers on the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green.
HBO’s ‘Vice Principals’ to Feature Music by Joey Stephens
Joey Stephens is reuniting with Jody Hill & Danny McBride and will compose the music for the upcoming HBO original series Vice Principals. The show is created by Hill and McBride who also stars in the comedy alongside Walter Goggins, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Georgia King, Busy Philipps, Shea Whigham and Sheaun McKinney. The series, which has been ordered for two seasons with 18 episodes, tells the story of a high school and the people who almost run it, the vice principals. McBride and Hill are also executive producing the project with Stephanie Laing and David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls, George Washington) who also directed the pilot episode.

Premiering tomorrow, February 8, is the HBO documentary Homegrown: The Counter-Terror Dilemma directed by Greg Barker based on the book United States of Jihad: Investigating America’s Homegrown Terrorists. The film’s original score is composed by electronic musician and percussionist Ricardo Donoso. Homegrown is produced by Barker, John Battsek & Julie Goldman and offers an insider’s account from the perspectives of those who helped construct America’s counter-terrorism machine, as well as those who are its targets.
