Deutsche Grammophon will release a soundtrack album for the Black Mirror episode Nosedive. Max Richter (The Leftovers, Waltz with Bashir, Miss Sloane, Disconnect, Testament of Youth) has composed the episode’s original music. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 21 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Nosedive episode is directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride and Prejudice, Hanna) and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Alice Eve, James Norton and Cherry Jones. The episode is written by co-written by Rashida Jones & Mike Schur and has been described as a social satire about identity in the social media age.

Andy Price to Score History’s ‘Knightfall’
Andy Price has signed on to score the upcoming History original series Knightfall. The show is created by Don Handfield (The Founder, Touchback) and Richard Rayner and stars Tom Cullen, Bobby Schofield, Sabrina Bartlett, Julian Ovenden, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Padraic Delaney, Simon Merrells and Olivia Ross. The drama chronicles the mysterious but true accounts of the Knights Templar, the elite warriors of the Crusades during the 14th century. Jeremy Renner is executive producing the A+E Studios production with Handfield & Rayner, showrunner Dominic Minghella (Doc Martin) and Midnight Radio’s Jeff Pinkner (Alias, Fringe), Andre Nemec & Josh Appelbaum (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) and Scott Rosenberg (Beautiful Girls).
Ben Salisbury’s & Geoff Barrow’s Score from ‘Black Mirror’ Episode ‘Men Against Fire’ to Be Released
Invada Records will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror. The album features the music from the episode Men Against Fire from the new season composed by Ben Salisbury & Portishead member Geoff Barrow (Ex Machina, Free Fire). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 21. The Men Against Fire episode is directed by Jacob Verbruggen, written by Charlie Brooker and starring Malachi Kirby, Michael Kelly, Madeline Brewer and Sarah Snook follows two future soldiers who must protect frightened villagers from an infestation of vicious feral mutants. The new Black Mirror season will premiere this Friday on Netflix.
Lorne Balfe to Score Nat Geo’s ‘Genius’
Lorne Balfe has been hired to score the National Geographic Channel’s first scripted series Genius. The show’s first season is based on Walter Isaacson’s book Einstein: His Life and Universe and stars Geoffrey Rush as Albert Einstein. Ron Howard (Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, Backdraft) is directing the first episode of the drama, which chronicles how an imaginative, rebellious patent clerk, who couldn’t get a teaching job or a doctorate, unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe. Johnny Flynn co-stars as Einstein in the years before he rose to international attention and acclaim. Noah Pink has adapted Isaacson’s book for the Fox 21 Television production.
Joseph Trapanese Tapped as New Composer for ABC’s ‘Quantico’
Joseph Trapanese has taken over scoring duties on the ABC drama Quantico. He is scoring the show starting with the third episode of the second season, which premieres tonight. Joel J. Richard (John Wick) has previously scored the first season and first two episodes of the current season. Quantico is created by Joshua Safran and stars Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Aunjanue Ellis, Yasmine Al Massri, Johanna Braddy, Russell Tovey, Pearl Thusi and Blair Underwood. The series executive produced by Safran, Mark Gordon, Robert Sertner, Jorge Zamacona and Nicholas Pepper follows a group of young FBI recruits, all with specific reasons for joining, who battle their way through training at the Quantico base in Virginia.

The show’s original music is composed by Reinhold Heil (Run Lola Run, The International, Cloud Atlas, Helix, Deutschland 83). Hulu’s ‘Chance’ to Feature Music by Will Bates
Will Bates is composing the score for the new Hulu original series Chance. The show is created by Alexandra Cunningham (Desperate Housewives, Prime Suspect) and Kem Nunn and stars Hugh Laurie, Gretchen Mol, Clark Peters, Paul Adelstein, Diane Farr, Lisa Gay Hamilton, Stefania LaVie Owen, Greta Lee and Ethan Suplee. The drama is based on Nunn’s novel and revolves around a forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.
USA’s ‘Eyewitness’ to Feature Music by Keefus Ciancia
Keefus Ciancia is composing the score for the new USA original series Eyewitness. The show is created by Adi Hasak (Shades of Blue, 3 Days to Kill) based on the Norwegian crime thriller Øyevitne and stars Julianne Nicholson, Gil Bellows, Warren Christie, Tattiawna Jones, Matt Murray, James Paxton and Tyler Young. The anthology series’ first season follows two innocent teenage boys who bear witness to a triple-homicide while in the midst of a romantic encounter. Hasak is also executive producing the Universal Cable production with Jarl Emsell Larsen, Scott Peters (V, The 4400), Jackie de Crinis, as well as Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight, Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown) who also directed the first two episodes.
‘Jonny Quest’ Soundtrack Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score to the 1964-65 classic animated Hanna-Barbera adventure television series Jonny Quest. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by William Hanna, Joseph Barbera and Hoyt Curtin (The Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Top Cat). Curtin also served as a music director on the show alongside Ted Nichols. The 2-CD set is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples.
New Soundtrack Album for ‘Bates Motel’ Announced
Lakeshore Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the A&E original series Bates Motel. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Chris Bacon (Source Code, Gnomeo & Juliet, Alpha and Omega, Smash). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 28, 2016 and physically on November 11. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Varese Sarabande has previously released a soundtrack album featuring selections of the composer’s score from the first two seasons.
