Waxwork Records has announced the first soundtrack release for the HBO original series Vice Principals. The album features the complete score from the show’s first two seasons composed by Joseph Stephens (Eastbound and Down, Observe and Report, Flower). The soundtrack will be released as a 180 gram North Jackson Warriors Blue and White colored vinyl (Season 1) and 180 Gram North Jackson Tigers Orange and White colored vinyl (Season 2) and will be available on the label’s official website starting tomorrow, January 29. Vice Principals is created by Jody Hill & Danny McBride who also stars in the comedy alongside Walter Goggins, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Georgia King, Busy Philipps, Shea Whigham and Sheaun McKinney.

YouTube Premium’s ‘Weird City’ to Feature Original Score by Chad Fischer
Chad Fischer (Scandal, Private Practice, Chasing Mavericks) is the composer of the new YouTube Premium original anthology series Weird City. The show is created by Jordan Peele (Get Out) & Charlie Sanders and stars Dylan O’Brien, Awkwafina, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson, Steven Yeun, Ed O’Neil, Hannah Simone, Gillian Jacobs, Laverne Cox, Malcolm Barrett, Mark Hamill, Yvette Nicole Brown, Trevor Jackson, Auli’i Cravalho, Levar Burton and Sara Gilbert. The sci-fi comedy is set in a dystopian setting, where the middle class has completely vanished dividing “Weird City” into two sections: Above the Line (The Haves), and Below the Line (The Have Nots).

Premiering tonight is the Fox Live television event Rent executive produced by Marc Platt based on Jonathan Larson’s stage musical of the same title and starring Vanessa Hudgens, Brandon Victor Dixon, Mario, Tinashe, Kiersey Clemons, Jordan Fisher, Brennin Hunt and Valentina. Masterworks Broadway will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the TV special. Premiering tomorrow, January 28 is the TNT limited series I Am the Night developed by Sam Sheridan, executive produced by Patty Jenkins and starring Chris Pine, India Eisley, Jefferson Mays, Leland Orser, Yul Vasquez, Dylan Smith, Golden Brooks, Justin Cornwell, Jay Paulson and Connie Nielsen. The show’s original music is composed by David Lang (Youth, Wildlife). Soundtrack Album for The CW’s ‘The Outpost’ Released
Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album for The CW drama The Outpost. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by James Schafer (Mythica: The Iron Crown, The Christmas Dragon). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Outpost is created by Jason Faller & Kynan Griffin and stars Jessica Green, Jake Stormoen, Anand Desai Barochia, Imogen Waterhouse, Michael Flynn, Robyn Malcolm, Andrew Howard and Philip Brodi. The drama follows the lone survivor of a race called “Blackbloods” as she travels to a lawless fortress on the edge of the civilized world to track the killers of her family.
Matthew Margeson Scoring ‘Into the Dark’ Episode ‘Down’
Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle, Rings, Truth or Dare) has recently scored the fifth episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled Down, is directed by Daniel Stamm (The Last Exorcism, 13 Sins) and stars Natalie Martinez, Matt Lauria, Arnie Pantoja, Diane Sellers, and Christina Leone. The episode written by Kent Kubena follows a pair of office of workers who get trapped in an elevator over a long Valentine’s Day weekend.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Frontier’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Frontier. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Rampage, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 25 and will be available to download here. Frontier is created by Rob Blackie & Peter Blackie, executive produced by Brad Peyton and stars Jason Momoa, Alun Armstrong, Landon Liboiron, Zoe Boyle, Jessica Matten and Shawn Doyle.
Netflix’s ‘Russian Doll’ to Feature Music by Joe Wong
Joe Wong (Master of None, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Russian Doll. The show is created by Natasha Lyonne, Leslye Headland (Bachelorette, Sleeping with Other People) & Amy Poehler and stars Lyonne herself, alongside Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Elizabeth Ashley, Charlie Barnett, Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Brendan Sexton III, Rebecca Henderson, Jeremy Bobb, Ritesh Rajan and Jocelyn Bioh. The comedy follows a young woman named on her journey as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City.
Jay Wadley to Score Netflix’s ‘Tales of the City’ Revival
Jay Wadley (Indignation, The OA, Cruise) has been tapped to score upcoming Netflix limited series Tales of the City. The show is developed by Lauren Morelli (Orange Is the New Black) based on Armistead Maupin’s books and stars Laura Linney, Olympia Dukakis, Barbara Garrick and Paul Gross who reprise their roles from the 1993 mini-series (scored by John Keane) and its sequels. They are joined by Ellen Page, Murray Bartlett, Charlie Barnett, Josiah Victoria Garcia and May Hong. The drama follows Mary Ann who returns home to San Francisco and is reunited with her daughter and ex-husband, twenty years after leaving them behind to pursue her career and will quickly be drawn back into the orbit of Anna Madrigal and the residents of 28 Barbary Lane.

Premiering on Thursday, January 24, is the Netflix docu-series Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes directed by Joe Berlinger about serial killer Ted Bundy. Justin Melland (Dark Net, The Force, Wrong Man) has composed the original music for the show, which features present-day interviews, archival footage and audio recordings made on death row. The full series will be available to stream on Thursday exclusively on Netflix.
Dino Meneghin’s Main Title Theme from Amazon’s ‘Lore’ Season 2 Released
Amazon Content Services has released the main title theme from the second season of the Amazon original series Lore. The theme is composed by Dino Meneghin (Teen Wolf, Killing Gunther, Eye Candy) who also scored Season 2 of the anthology series. The track is now available to download on Amazon. Lore is inspired by the popular podcast launched in March 2015 by Aaron Mahnke that explores the origins of modern myths and legend and is executive produced by Sean Crouch (who served as the showrunner of the second season), Gale Anne Hurd, Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Brett-Patrick Jenkins, Jon Halperin and Mark Mannucci.
