Mathieu Lamboley (A Minuscule Adventure, Return of the Hero, Sisters in Arms, Daddy Cool) is the composer of the new French Netflix original series Lupin. The show is created by George Kay (Criminal: UK) & François Uzan (Family Business) and stars Omar Sy, Ludivine Sagnier, Clotilde Hesme, Nicole Garcia, Hervé Pierre, Soufiane Guerrab, Antoine Gouy, Fargass Assandé, Vincent Londez and Shirine Boutella. The drama is inspired by the adventures of Arsène Lupin and centers on Assane Diop whose life was turned upside down when his father died after being accused of a crime he didn’t commit and, 25 years later, uses “Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar” as his inspiration to avenge his father.

‘Zog and the Flying Doctors’ Soundtrack Released
Magic Light Pictures has released a soundtrack album for the animated short Zog and the Flying Doctors. The album features the original music from the holiday special composed by René Aubry (The Gruffalo, The Bears’ Famous Invasion, The Snail and the Whale, The Highway Rat) who previously scored the 2018 original Zog short. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Zog and the Flying Doctors is directed by Sean Mullen and features the voices of Sir Lenny Henry as the narrator, Hugh Skinner, Tracey Ullman, Patsy Ferran and Kit Harington.
‘The Orville’ Season 2 Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Fox/Hulu original series The Orville. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2), Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) and Andrew Cottee. Also included is Bruce Broughton’s main titles theme. The 2-CD set will be released on January 19, 2021 and is now available to order on Amazon or La-La Land’s official website. A digital version is set to come out on January 22 (click here to stream/download). The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composers’ music from the first season last year. The Orville is created by Seth MacFarlane and stars Macfarlane himself, Adrianne Palicki, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, Halston Sage, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, Jessica Szohr and Penny Johnson Jerald.
Andrew Lockington Tapped as Composer of ‘American Gods’ Season 3
Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Rampage, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Rampage, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) has been tapped as the new composer of the Starz original series American Gods. He is scoring the third season of the show developed by Bryan Fuller & Michael Green based on Neil Gaiman’s novel and starring Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Omid Abtahi, Ashley Reyes, Crispin Glover, Demore Barnes, Devery Jacobs, Blythe Danner, Marilyn Manson, Julia Sweeney, Iwan Rheon, Danny Trejo, Peter Stormare, Denis O’Hare, Lela Loren, Dominique Jackson, Wale, Herizen Guardiola and Eric Johnson.
Covers from Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack EP for the Netflix original series Bridgerton featuring the classical cover versions of songs including Ariana Grande’s thank u, next, Maroon 5’s Girls Like You, Shawn Mendes’ In My Blood & Billie Eilish’s bad guy performed by the Vitamin String Quartet, as well as Celeste’s Strange by the show’s composer Kris Bowers feat. Hillary Smith and Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams by Duomo. The 6-track EP will be released digitally on December 25 and is now available for pre-order here. As previously reported, the label will also release a separate soundtrack featuring Bowers’ score from the drama.
Clinton Shorter Scoring Netflix’s ‘Tribes of Europa’
Clinton Shorter (District 9, 2 Guns, Contraband, Pompeii) is scoring the upcoming German Netflix original series Tribes of Europa. The show is created by Philip Koch (Picco) and stars Emilio Sakraya, Henriette Confurius, David Ali Rashed, Melika Foroutan, Robert Finster, Oliver Masucci, Ana Ularu, Benjamin Sadler, Jeanette Hain, Jannik Schümann and James Faulkner. The sci-fi adventure is set in in Europe 2074, 45 years after a mysterious catastrophe when the continent is split into small states and microstates in which different tribes fight for predominance, and follows three siblings who are separated and forced to forge their own paths.
‘Bridgerton’ Soundtrack Album Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Bridgerton. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Kris Bowers (Green Book, When They See Us, Dear White People, Bad Hair, Mrs. America). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 25, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate soundtrack EP featuring the covers from the drama will also be coming out on the same day (check back on this page for more information). Premiering on Wednesday, December 23 is the period drama Sylvie’s Love written and directed by Eugene Ashe and starring Tessa Thompson, Nnamdi Asomugha, Eva Longoria, Aja Naomi Kin, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Jemima Kirke. The film’s original music is composed by Fabrice Lecomte. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Wednesday. The full album details will posted on this page within the next couple of days. The drama premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime.
Premiering on Friday, December 25 is the animated feature Soul directed by Pete Docter and starring Jamie Foxx, Tina Fey, Ahmir Questlove Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Daveed Diggs. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Watchmen, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl, Mank) have composed the film’s original score and Jon Batiste has provided original jazz compositions and arrangements. Walt Disney Records has released a digital soundtrack featuring the score, the jazz music and the songs from the movie (click here for the full album details) and has also released two separate vinyl soundtracks featuring the score and Batiste’s jazz music (click here for more details). Soul will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+.
Soundtrack Album for ‘Welcome to the Blumhouse’ Movie ‘Nocturne’ Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Welcome to the Blumhouse installment Nocturne. The album features the film’s original music composed by British EDM artist Gazelle Twin (aka Elizabeth Bernholz). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Nocturne is written and directed by Zu Quirke and stars Sydney Sweeney, Madison Iseman, Jacques Colimon and Ivan Shaw. The movie is set at an elite arts academy and follows a music student who begins to outshine her more accomplished twin sister when she discovers a mysterious notebook belonging to a recently deceased classmate.
‘A Perfect Planet’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Sony Classical has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC Earth docu-series A Perfect Planet. The album features the show’s original music composed by Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, The Young Victoria, Still Alice, Layer Cake, Shaun the Sheep Movie, Coriolanus) and performed by the London Metropolitan Orchestra and SinfoniaNord. The soundtrack will be released on January 8, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first single will be coming out on January 1.
