Hollywood Records has released cover version of Steve Miller Band’s Fly Like an Eagle by composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard) & writer/director Noah Hawley from the Season 3 premiere episode (Chapter 20) of the FX original series Legion. The song is now available on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Also listen to the full track after the jump. The song was missing from the official Season 3 soundtrack album, which also features the other covers, as well as selections of Russo’s score from the third season. Legion based on the Marvel Comics character and starring Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jean Smart, Aubrey Plaza, Amber Midthunder, Jeremie Harris, Katie Aselton and Bill Irwin is now available to stream on Hulu.

Soundtrack Album for Lifetime’s ‘Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia’ to Be Released
ABKCO Records will release a soundtrack album for the Lifetime original movie Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia. The album features the original score from the film composed by Matthew Head (P-Valley, Boomerang, The Family Business). Also included are the songs from the drama performed by lead actress Danielle Brooks. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Robin Roberts Presents: Mahalia is directed by Kenny Leon, executive produced by Robin Roberts & Linda Berman and stars Brooks in the title role, alongside Jason Dirden, Joaquina Kalukango, Olivia Washington, Kenny Leon and Rob Demery. The movie tells the story of Mahalia Jackson, known as the Queen of Gospel and the mentor and inspiration behind Aretha Franklin, from her early life growing up in brutal poverty in New Orleans to becoming a platinum-selling artist.
Soundtrack Album for HBO Max’s ‘Made for Love’ Announced
Composer and music producer Keefus Ciancia (Killing Eve, London Spy, Nashville, The Fall, Diana, The Motel Life) will release a two-volume soundtrack for the HBO Max original series Made for Love. The Volume 1 album features Ciancia’s original music from the show’s first four episodes and will be released digitally tomorrow, April 2 by Paramount Music (click here to stream/download the soundtrack). Listen to a first track after the jump. A second volume featuring the composer’s score from the final four episodes of the first season is set to come out on April 15. Made for Love is based on Alissa Nutting’s novel of the same title and stars Cristin Milioti, Billy Magnussen, Dan Bakkedahl, Noma Dumezweni, Augusto Aguilera and Ray Romano.
Soundtrack Album for ‘Welcome to the Blumhouse’ Movie ‘Black Box’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Welcome to the Blumhouse installment Black Box. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brandon Roberts (Chaos Walking, The Twilight Zone, Underwater, Unbroken: Path to Redemption, Motherland: Fort Salem, The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 2. The streaming/download link will be added to this page within the next day. Black Box is directed by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour, Jr. and stars Mamoudou Athie, Phylicia Rashad, Amanda Christine, Tosin Morohunfola and Troy James. The sci-fi horror thriller follows a single father who – after a tragic car accident- starts an experimental treatment to try and restore his lost memory.
Mark Isham Scoring HBO’s ‘The Nevers’
Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, Miracle, Warrior, The Accountant) is the composer of the new HBO original series The Nevers. The show is created by Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marvel’s The Avengers) and stars Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly, Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Rochelle Neil, Eleanor Tomlinson, Amy Manson, Pip Torrens, Denis O’Hare, Zackary Momoh, Elizabeth Berrington, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Anna Devlin, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Nick Frost and Ben Chaplin. The sci-fi drama is set in the late 19th Century, when Victorian London is rocked to its foundations by a supernatural event which gives certain people – mostly women – abnormal abilities, from the wondrous to the disturbing.
‘Cardinal’ Season 4 Soundtrack Album Released
Kobakov Music & Sienna Films have released the first soundtrack album for the Canadian series Cardinal. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s fourth season composed by Todor Kobakov (Born to Be Blue, The Samaritan, Tricksters, Backstabbing for Beginners, Sweetness in the Belly, Most Dangerous Game). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Cardinal is created by Aubrey Nealon and stars Billy Campbell, Karine Vanasse, Glen Gould, Eric Hicks, Kristen Thomson, Alanna Bale, James Downing, Zach Smadu and Eric Hicks. The crime drama based on Giles Blunt’s follows the titular detective and his partner as they investigate crimes in the fictional city of Algonquin Bay.
Wendy & Lisa Scoring Freeform’s ‘Cruel Summer’
Wendy Melvoin & Lisa Coleman (Heroes, Dangerous Minds, Nurse Jackie, Crossing Jordan) are scoring the new Freeform original series Cruel Summer. The show is created by Bert V. Royal (Easy A, Recovery Road) and stars Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Michael Landes, Allius Barnes, Blake Lee and Brooklyn Sudano. The drama takes place over three summers in the 90s when a beautiful and popular teen goes missing, and follows a seemingly unrelated girl who transforms from a sweet and awkward outlier to the most popular girl in town, eventually becoming the most despised person in America.
‘Libertad’ Soundtrack Album Released
Movistar Sound has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish limited series Libertad. The album features the show’s original music composed by Mario de Benito (No Rest for the Wicked, Box 507). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Libertad is created by Miguel Barros & Michel Gaztambide, directed by Enrique Urbizu and stars Bebe, Isak Férriz, Xabier Deive, Jorge Suquet, Sofía Oria, Jason Fernández, Pedro Casablanc and Luis Callejo. The historical adventure is set in early 19th century Spain, in the wake of the French Revolution, and tracks the struggle of La Llanera in her search for freedom.

Alexei Aigui Scoring HBO’s ‘Exterminate All the Brutes’
Alexei Aigui (The Truth, Locust, Test) has recently scored the new HBO hybrid docu-series Exterminate All the Brutes. The show is written and directed by Raoul Peck (Sometimes in April) and follows the filmmaker as he deconstructs the making and masking of history, focusing on the exploitative and genocidal aspects of European colonialism – from America to Africa and its impact on society today. The 4-parter reframes and revisits the meaning of the Native American genocide and American slavery and their fundamental implications for our present. Josh Hartnett plays the lead role in the scripted portions of the film.
