Movie Score Media has announced a soundtrack release for the British dinosaur adventure series Primeval. The album features 75 minutes of the original score composed by Dominik Scherrer (Miss Marple, Scenes of a Sexual Nature) from the first three seasons of the show. The soundtrack is scheduled for a release on September 20, 2011 and will be available digitally and on CD. Primeval created by Adrian Hodges and Tim Haines tells the story about an evolutionary zoologist who discovers prehistoric creatures alive and well in the present day.

John Barry’s ‘The Black Hole’ Soundtrack released
Intrada Records has announced the premiere CD release of the score for Disney’s 1979 sci-fi adventure The Black Hole. The music is composed by John Barry. The album includes the complete score from the film, including over 20 minutes of never-before released material. Highlight selections of the score have previously only been released on LP. The Black Hole is directed by Gary Nelson and stars Maximilian Schell, Anthony Perkins and Robert Forster. The movie about a research vessel that finds a missing on the edge of a black hole received two Academy Award nominations for Cinematography and Visual Effects.
‘The Skin I Live In’ Soundtrack released
Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for Pedro Almadovar’s drama The Skin I Live In (La piel que habito). The album includes the film’s original score by Alberto Iglesias, as well as songs from the movie by Concha Buika, Trentmöller and Chris Garneau. The score is performed by the London Sessions Orchestra. The soundtrack is currently available overseas as a digital download. Howe Records to Release Howard Shore’s ‘Hugo’ Soundtrack

The credits on the official movie website of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming drama Hugo reveal that a soundtrack album for the movie will be released on Howard Shore‘s own label Howe Records. According to The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films, Shore’s music will be recorded later this year. Scorsese has previously worked with the composer on a number of films including The Aviator, The Departed, The Gangs of New York and After Hours. More details on the soundtrack album are expected to be announced within the next few months. Hugo is set in 1930s Paris and centers on a 12-year-old orphan who lives in a train station and must finish what his late father started by solving the mystery of a broken robotstars .
‘The Help’ Score Album Details
Varese Sarabande has revealed the details of the score album for the hit drama The Help. The album includes the original score by Thomas Newman. The soundtrack CD is available for pre-order on Amazon and is scheduled to be released on September 13, 2011. The release is also already available to download. Blige and co-written by Newman has already been released as reported here. The Help directed by Tate Taylor and starring Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Sissy Spacek, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jessica Chastain, Mike Vogel and Cicely Tyson opened last week and is currently playing in theaters.
Marco Beltrami’s ‘The Thing’ Soundtrack announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming horror thriller The Thing. The album features the movie’s original score by Marco Beltrami. The soundtrack will be released on October 11, 2011. The full details of the release are expected to be announced within the next couple of weeks. The Thing directed by Matthijs van Heijingen Jr., produced by Marc Abraham and Eric Newman (Dawn of the Dead, Children of Men) and starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Eric Christian Olsen and Joel Edgerton is a prequel to the 1982 classic directed by John Carpenter, which featured a score by Ennio Morricone. The movie will be released on October 14 by Universal Pictures.
‘The Change-Up’ Soundtrack released
Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the comedy The Change-Up. The album includes the film’s original score by composer John Debney, as well as a couple of tracks composed by Theodore Shapiro who was the original main composer of the movie. The soundtrack is available to download on iTunes, where you can listen to audio clips from all tracks. The Change-Up is directed by David Dobkin (The Wedding Crashers) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Bateman, Leslie Mann, Alan Arkin and Olivia Wilde. The movie centers on a married guy who accidentally changes bodies with his single best friend and ends up pursuing a female coworker. The comedy was released earlier this month by Universal Pictures and is currently playing in theaters.
‘Bellflower’ Soundtrack released
Oscillope has released a soundtrack album for the action drama Bellflower. The album includes the original music from the film written by Jonathan Keevil. The soundtrack will be released on CD on September 6, 2011 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. The album is also already available to download. The movie centers on two friends who spend all their free time building flame-throwers and weapons of mass destruction in hopes that a global apocalypse will occur and clear the runway for their imaginary gang “Mother Medusa”. The film was released in select cities on August 5 and is currently playing in limited release.
‘Boardwalk Empire’ Soundtrack announced
Elektra/Asylum Records has announced a soundtrack release for the Emmy-nominated HBO show Boardwalk Empire. The album features songs from the series by such artists as Stephen DeRosa, Regina Spektor, Nellie McKay, Vince Gioardano and the Nighthawks, Kathy Brier, Martha Wainwright, Loudon Wainwright III and Leon Redbone. The soundtrack will be released on September 13, 2011 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Boardwalk Empire produced by Terence Winter (The Sopranos) and Martin Scorsese chronicles the life and times of Nucky Thompson (Steve Buscemi), Atlantic City’s czar during Prohibition. The first season is expected to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray later this year.
‘Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming horror thriller Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. The album features the film’s original score by Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 30, 2011 and on CD on September 27 (available for pre-order on Amazon). Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be check out below. Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark directed by Troy Nixey and produced by Guillermo Del Toro stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison.
