Grammy Award-winning musician Jack White, best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist of the rock band The White Stripes and as a member of the Raconteur and the Dead Weather, will serve as the music director of the upcoming action thriller Motor City. The film is directed by Potsy Ponciroli (Old Henry) and will star Alan Ritchson, Shailene Woodley, Ben Foster and Pablo Schreiber. The movie follows a convicted Detroit auto-worker whose life and girlfriend who was framed by a local gangster and – upon release from prison – unleashes a maelstrom of vengeance on those who wronged him as he attempts to win his girl back.

Hans Zimmer to Score Gore Verbinski’s ‘The Lone Ranger’
According to the film’s latest trailer, Hans Zimmer has taken over scoring duties on Gore Verbinski’s upcoming western The Lone Ranger. The film stars Armie Hammer in the title role of the masked crime fighter and Johnny Depp as his Native American sidekick from the popular 1950s TV series. Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner and Barry Pepper are co-starring in the film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) has written the script with Terry Rossio & Ted Elliott (The Mask of Zorro). Zimmer has previously collaborated with Verbinski on the Pirates of the Caribbean films, The Ring and last year’s animated feature Rango. The composer is taking over for Jack White, lead guitarist and vocalist of the rock band White Stripes and member of the Raconteur and the Dead Weather, who was previously announced as the composer of the movie.

The film is directed by Gore Verbinski and stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner and Barry Pepper. The movie is an adaptation of the popular 1950s TV series and tells the story of a masked crime fighter and his Native American sidekick. Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road) has written the screenplay with Terry Rossio & Ted Elliott (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Mask of Zorro). The project marks White’s first feature film scoring assignment.
‘Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the documentary Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop. The album includes the live performances from the movie by Conan O’Brien and the Legally Prohibited Band and Jack White from The White Stripes. Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop follows the comedian on his comedy tour, The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour, which took place in 2010 following his departure from The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien due to a scheduling dispute.
