Watertower Music has announced a new soundtrack release for the HBO hit show True Blood. The album includes songs from the show by artists including Karen Olsen featuring Donovan, Neko Case and Nick Cave, Damien Rice, Massive Attack, Nick Lowe and Jace Everett. ‘Footloose’ Soundtrack announced
Atlantic Records and Warner Music Nashville have announced the details of the soundtrack release for the upcoming remake of Footloose. The album includes a new version of the title song Footloose performed by country star Blake Shelton. Also featured on the soundtrack are Zac Brown, The Smashing Pumpkins, Lissie, Cee Lo Green feat. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Ella Mae Bowen, Victoria Justice & Hunter Hayes and Big & Rich. Check out the complete track list below. None of the film’s score by Deborah Lurie is included on the album. ‘Dream House’ Soundtrack Coming in September
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for the thriller Dream House. The album includes the original score from the movie composed by John Debney. Dream House is directed by Jim Sheridan and stars Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts. The movie revolves on on a successful publisher who quits his job in New York and relocates his wife and daughters to a quaint New England town, only to discover that their perfect new home was the murder scene of a mother and her two children. Universal Pictures will release the movie on September 30.
Sony Classical to Release John Williams’ ‘The Adventures of Tintin’ Soundtrack
Film Music Reporter has learned that Sony Classical is the label to release the highly anticipated soundtrack for Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. The album includes the score from the movie by John Williams. The soundtrack marks the composer’s first new film score release in over three years since 2008’s Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. No release date has been set yet, but a release around the movie’s release date overseas in October is expected. The Adventures of Tintin starring Simon Pegg, Daniel Craig, Cary Elwes and Andy Serkis follows Tintin and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock’s ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt.
‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Soundtrack Set released
La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack set for the sci-fi series Star Trek: The Next Generation. The 3CD-set features more than three hours of previously unreleased music from the show by composers Dennis McCarthy, Jay Chattaway, Don Davis, John Debney and Fred Steiner. Star Trek: The Next Generation created by Gene Roddenberry and starring Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Denise Crosby and Wil Wheaton aired from 1987 to 1994 and was the longest-running Star Trek series.
‘The Three Musketeers’ Soundtrack announced
Rough Trade Distribution has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers. The soundtrack will be available in some European countries digitally on August 26, 2011 and on CD on September 2. The album includes the original score from the film by Paul Haslinger (Underworld, Death Race), as well as the movie’s title song When We Were Young by Take That. The Three Musketeers directed by Paul W.S. Anderson is a modern retelling of the classic story by Alexandre Dumas and stars Logan Lerman, Milla Jovovich, Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew MacFayden, Luke Evans, Mads Mikkelsen, Juno Temple and Ray Stevenson.
‘The Last Circus’ Soundtrack announced
Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the drama The Last Circus. The album includes the original score by composer Roque Banos (The Machinist, the upcoming Intruders) performed by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. Also featured on the soundtrack is a rendition of Raphael’s Balada de la Trompet, The soundtrack will be released on August 16, 2011. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. The Last Circus is written and directed by Álex de la Iglesia and centers on a “happy” clown who is forcibly recruited to serve in the Spanish Civil War, where he massacres an entire platoon with a machete still in costume. The movie will be released in theaters on August 19 by Magnet Releasing.
Varese Sarabande to Release Thomas Newman’s ‘The Help’ Score
Varese Sarabande has announced a score release for the upcoming drama The Help. The film’s music is composed by Thomas Newman. The soundtrack will be released on September 13, 2011. The Help is directed by Tate Taylor and stars Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Sissy Spacek, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Mike Vogel and Cicely Tyson. The movie based on the best-selling novel by Kathryn Stockett about the conflicted and complex relationships between Southern women and their housekeepers at the beginning of the civil rights movement will be released in theaters on August 12.
‘Warrior’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records has announced the details for the soundtrack release for the upcoming action drama Warrior. The album includes the film’s original score by composer Mark Isham, as well as the song About Today by The National. Warrior is directed by Gavin O’Connor (Miracle, Pride and Glory) and centers on the youngest son of an alcoholic former boxer who is trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament. Universal Republic to release ‘The Hunger Games’ Soundtrack
Lionsgate has announced today that Universal Republic will be releasing a number of different soundtrack albums for next year’s The Hunger Games. Most notably, the label is planning a release of the film’s score by Danny Elfman and T Bone Burnett. In addition, Universal Republic will also release a series of companion recordings that will feature new songs directly influenced by the themes and subject matter of The Hunger Games, all recorded by some of music’s most successful and acclaimed artists. The film’s Executive Music Producer and co-composer T-Bone Burnett will produce many of these recordings, and will oversee all production. The Hunger Games is directed by Gary Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence as a young woman selected to represent her district in a televised fight to the death.
