Guaranteed to top the weekend box office is the final part in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 directed by Bill Condon and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The film’s music is composed by Carter Burwell. Summit Entertainment, Chop Shop Records and Atlantic Records have released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Green Day and Feist. Opening in limited release is the comedy drama Silver Linings Playbook directed by David O. Russell and starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro, Julia Stiles, Jacki Weaver and Chris Tucker. Danny Elfman has composed the film’s score. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack featuring the songs featured in the film by Stevie Wonder, Alabama Shakes, alt-K, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Rare Earth and Bob Dylan & Johnny Cash, as well as two tracks by Elfman. ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ Score Album Details

The details of the score album for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Carter Burwell who is scoring his third Twilight film following the 2008 original film and last year’s first Breaking Dawn movie. The soundtrack is currently scheduled to be released on November 19, 2012 by Atlantic Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the full track list after the jump. As previously reported, the label is also releasing a separate soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the film. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is directed by Bill Condon and starrs Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. The fifth and final installment in the Twilight film series will be released nationwide on November 16, 2012 by Summit Entertainment.

Atlantic Records to Release Soundtrack and Score Album for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’

Atlantic Records will release two different soundtrack albums for the final installment in the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. Scheduled for a release on November 13, 2012 is a soundtrack featuring the songs from and inspired by the film. To pre-order the album, visit Amazon. Also coming out on the same day is a score release featuring the music composed by Carter Burwell who has scored his third film in the series following Catherine Hardwicke’s first Twilight installment and last year’s Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Carter Burwell Scoring ‘Seven Psychopaths’

Carter Burwell is scoring the upcoming comedy thriller Seven Psychopaths. The movie is written and directed by Martin McDonagh and stars Colin Farrell as an alcoholic screenwriter who is struggling to write a serial-killer script and gets more real-life inspiration than he can handle when a dognapping scheme gone awry brings a galaxy of crazies to his doorstep. Sam Rockwell, Woody Harrelson, Christopher Walken, Abbie Cornish, Tom Waits, Olga Kurylenko and Gabourey Sidibe are co-starring in the film. Graham Broadbent and Pete Czernin (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, In Bruges) are producing the Blueprint Pictures production.

Two new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the fourth part of the Twilight series, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 directed by Bill Condon and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Anna Kendrick and Ashley Greene. The film’s score is composed by Carter Burwell who has scored his second movie for the franchise. A soundtrack album with the songs from the film, plus one track from Burwell’s score has already been released by Atlantic Records. Also opening wide is the animated film sequel Happy Feet Two directed by George Miller and featuring the voice talent of Elijah Wood, Pink, Robin Williams, Hank Azari, Benjamin Flores, Elizabeth Daily, Sofía Vergara, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Hugo Weaving and Anthony LaPaglia. John Powell has written the score and also produced the songs for the film. Some of the other composers well known in the film music community who are involved in the music for the project include T Bone Burnett and David Hirschfelder. Atlantic Records will be releasing a score album for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -Part 1. The music is composed by Carter Burwell who previously scored the first installment in the series directed by Catherine Hardwicke. The soundtrack will be released on December 13, 2011 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. Check back for the cover art and track list to be revealed on this page within the next couple of weeks. As previously reported, a soundtrack with songs from the movie and one track of Burwell’s score is coming out on November 8. The album will be live-streamed this Saturday on the official Facebook movie page. The album includes one track from the score by Carter Burwell whose music has recently been recorded. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include The Joy Formidables, Angus & Julia Stone, Bruno Mars, Sleeping at Last, Christina Perri, Iron & Wine, Cider Sky and Mia Maestro. The album will be released on November 8, 2011 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate score album is expected to be announced closer to the film’s release. BREAKING NEWS: Carter Burwell returns to score final ‘Twilight’ films

Film Music Reporter has learned that Carter Burwell will return to the Twilight franchise to score the two final films in the series. The final two movies are directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls), who worked with Burwell on Gods and Monsters and Kinsey. Burwell previously scored the first part in the series directed by Catherine Hardwicke, with Alexandre Desplat taking over for New Moon, followed by Howard Shore for last year’s Eclipse. There have been many rumors going around on who the composer for the final movies will be (including such names as Harry Gregson-Williams and John Powell), but ultimately Carter Burwell was chosen to return to the series.
