Lakeshore Records has announced the soundtrack details for the indie drama Smashed. The album features the film’s score composed by Andy Cabic and Eric D. Johnson (Our Idiot Brother, Ceremony), as well as the songs from the movie by artists including Richard and Linda Thompson, Bart Davenport, Omero Guerrero, Cass McCombs, Dark Meat, Sonny & The Sunsets and Smog. The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 9, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks on the album below. Smashed is directed by James Ponsoldt and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aaron Paul as a married couple whose bond is built on a mutual love of alcohol and whose relationship is put to the test when the wife decides to get sober. Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and Mary Kay Place are co-starring. The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for a theatrical release on October 12, 2012.

‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ Score Album Announced
Lionsgate Records will release a score soundtrack album for the coming-of-age drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Brook (The Fighter, The Vow, Into the Wild). The score album will be released on September 25, 2012 and is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips from all tracks can be checked out below. As previously announced, Atlantic Records has also released a soundtrack featuring the movie’s song. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is directed by Stephen Chbosky and stars Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ezra Miller, Paul Rudd, Kate Walsh, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman and Dylan McDermott. The drama is being released in select cities this weekend and will expand to other markets within the next weeks.
‘Butter’ Soundtrack Details
Following the announcement of a score album for the satirical comedy Butter earlier this week, Lakeshore Records has published the details of a separate soundtrack album featuring the movie’s songs. Artists featured on the album include Fitz and the Tantrums, Jonsi, Raphael Saadiq, Imani Coppola featuring Tim Myers, Hugo and The Constellations. Also featured is one track from Mateo Messina’s score. The soundtrack will be released on October 9, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next few weeks. Butter directed by Jim Field Smith and starring Jennifer Garner, Olivia Wilde, Hugh Jackman, Ty Burrell, Yara Shahidi, Alicia Silverstone, Ashley Greene, Rob Corddry and Kristen Schaal will be released in theaters on October 10 by the Weinstein Company’s Radius label and is also currently available on VOD.
‘Taken 2’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller Taken 2 have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score written by French composer Nathaniel Mechaly who previously scored the first installment in the series. Also included are a number of the songs featured in the film by artists including Phoebe Killdeer and the Short Straws, Kasbah Rockers and College & Electric Youth. Taken 2 is directed by Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) and stars Liam Neeson who returns as Bryan Mills and is targeted by a vengeance-seeking crimelord. The movie will be released nationwide on October 5, 2012 by 20th Century Fox.
‘Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best’ Soundtrack Released
ATCO, an imprint of Rhino Entertainment, has released the soundtrack album for the indie drama Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best. The album features the film’s songs performed by the Brooklyn Brothers (Ryan O’Nan and Michael Weston), as well as selections from the movie’s original score composed by Rob Simonsen (All Good Things, (500) Days of Summer) and a number of other songs heard in the film. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best is written and directed by Ryan O’Nan who also stars in the drama as a failing singer-songwriter who decides to hit the road with a self-appointed music revolutionary, played by Michael Weston, and rediscovers his love for life and music. Arielle Kebbel, Melissa Leo, Andrew McCarthy, Christopher McDonald, Jason Ritter and Wilmer Valderrama are co-starring.
‘Won’t Back Down’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the drama Won’t Back Down. The album features the film’s original score composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Door in the Floor, Remember Me). Won’t Back Down is directed by Daniel Barnz who previously collaborated with Zarvos on last year’s Beastly and stars Maggie Gyllenhaal and Viola Davis as two mothers who channel frustration into action and join forces to transform an inner-city public school in Pittsburgh. Holly Hunter, Lance Reddick, Rosie Perez and Oscar Isaac are co-starring.
‘Argo’ Soundtrack Announced
WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for Ben Affleck’s thriller Argo. The album features the film’s original score written by Academy Award-nominated composer Alexandre Desplat. The soundtrack will be released on October 9, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out on the label’s official website and after the jump. Argo starring Affleck, Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Bryan Cranston, Victor Garber and Kyle Chandler tells the story of CIA exfiltration Tony Mendez who created a fake Hollywood production to get six Americans who were hiding out at the Canadian ambassador’s out of Iran. The movie will be released nationwide on October 12 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The details of the score album for the action adventure The Man With the Iron Fists have been announced. The album features the film’s original score composed by RZA and Howard Drossin. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2012 by Soul Temple Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. The Man with the Iron Fists is directed by RZA, presented by Quentin Tarantino, co-written by RZA and Eli Roth and stars Russell Crowe and Lucy Liu. ‘End of Watch’ Soundtrack Released
Relativity Music Group has released the official soundtrack album for the action thriller End of Watch. The album features selections from the film’s original score composed by David Sardy (Zombieland, 21), as well as the tracks Lisa’s Coming by the Latin Rascals, Harder Than You Think by Public Enemy, and Hey! ‘Bound for Glory’ Soundtrack Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack CD release for Hal Ashby’s 1976 film Bound for Glory starring David Carradine. The album features the previously unreleased original score from the film composed by Leonard Rosenman (Barry Lyndon), as well as the content of the original 1976 album featuring the tunes of Woody Guthrie, which were adapted for the project by Rosenman who received the Academy Award in the Best Music, Original Song Score and Its Adaptation or Best Adaptation Score category for his work on the film. The soundtrack is now available to order on Intrada’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips from the album.
