The film’s music was originally written for the stage musical of the same title by Leonard Bernstein (with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim) and has been adapted by David Newman (Anastasia, Ice Age, Serenity, The Flintstones). Gustavo Dudamel conducted the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs and score from the movie last week. Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Birds of Prey, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ocean’s 8, Enola Holmes) has composed the film’s original music. Also opening in select U.S. theaters and on VOD today is the British comedy Off the Rails directed by Jules Williamson and starring Kelly Preston, Sally Phillips, Jenny Seagrove and Judi Dench. Mario Grigorov (Precious, Shadowdancer, The Paperboy, Petals on the Wind) & Gary Hickerson have composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which revolves around three best friends from college who recreate their post-graduation trip across Europe to honor the memory of their friend, opened in the UK this past summer and is being distributed in the U.S. by Screen Media Films.
