Premiering tomorrow, April 1, is the CBS All Access original series The Twilight Zone based on the 1959 classic TV series created by Rod Sterling, hosted and produced by Jordan Peele and staring Ike Barinholtz, John Cho, Taissa Farmiga, Ginnifer Goodwin, Greg Kinnear, Kumail Nanjiani, Adam Scott, Alison Tolman, Jacob Tremblay and Steven Yeun. Also premiering tomorrow is the National Geographic docu-series Hostile Planet executive produced by Guillermo Navarro and hosted by Bear Grylls. Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Hellboy, Annabelle Creation) has composed the show’s original music. Milan Records will release a several soundtrack album featuring the composers’s score. Premiering on Thursday, April 4, in the U.S. is the Canadian limited series Unspeakable created by Robert C. Cooper and starring Sarah Wayne Callies, Michael Shanks, Ricardo Ortiz, Shawn Doyle, Camille Sullivan, Levi Meaden, Brian Markinson, Aaron Douglas, David Lewis and Spencer Drever. The show’s original music is composed by Dan Mangan (Hector and the Search for Happiness). The drama, which chronicles the emergence of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C in the Canadian Red Cross’s blood banks in the early 1980s, premiered earlier this year in Canada on CBC and is making its U.S. debut on Sundance Now.
Premiering on Friday, April 5 is the Netflix docu-series Our Planet narrated by Sir David Attenborough and executive proceed by Alastair Fothergill & Keith Scholey. Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Baby Driver, Wonder Park, The Hunt) has composed the show’s original music. Decca Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song he co-wrote with Ellie Goulding next Friday. Also premiering on Friday is the indie comedy drama Unicorn Store directed by Brie Larson who also stars in the movie with Samuel L. Jackson, Joan Cusack, Bradley Whitford, Mamoudou Athie, Hamish Linklater, Martha MacIsaac, Karan Soni and Annaleigh Ashford. The film’s original music is composed by Alex Greenwald. Also premiering on Friday is the seventh episode of the Hulu anthology series Into the Dark. The episode, entitled I’m Just F*cking With You, directed by Adam Mason and starring Keir O’Donnell, Hayes MacArthur & Jessica McNamee features an original score composed by Deftones member Chino Moreno who made his TV scoring debut on the project. The April Fool’s Day-themed episode I’m Just F*cking With You will be available to stream on Friday exclusively on Hulu.
Also premiering on Friday is the Cinemax original series Warrior created by Jonathan Tropper and starring Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Joanna Vanderham, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Joe Taslim, Langley Kirkwood, Christian McKay and Perry Yung. The show’s original music is composed by H. Scott Salinas (A Private War, Cartel Land) & Reza Safinia (Birth of the Dragon). Missing from last week’s TV music roundup was the new FX original series What We Do in the Shadows created by Jemaine Clement based on the 2014 movie of the same title and starring Matt Berry, Kayvan Novak, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén and Mark Proksch. The show’s original music is composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, The Royal Tenenbaums, 21/22 Jump Street).
