Premiering tonight is the HBO docu-series I’ll Be Gone in the Dark directed and executive produced by Liz Garbus about writer Michelle McNamara’s investigation into the dark world of a violent predator she dubbed the Golden State Killer. The show’s original music is composed by Philip Sheppard (Love, MarilynBobby Fischer Against the World, In the Shadow of the Moon, Detroit: Become Human). Premiering on Tuesday, June 30, is the Spanish drama Adú directed by Salvador Calvo and starring Luis Tosar, Anna Castillo, Álvaro Cervantes, Jesús Carroza and Miquel Fernández. Roque Banos (Don’t BreatheEvil DeadThe Machinist, In the Heart of the SeaThe Girl in the Spider’s Web) has composed the film’s original music. Mira Mi Música has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week when the film was first set to be released in Spanish theaters. Also premiering on Tuesday is the documentary Welcome to Chechnya directed by David France about a group of activists risking their lives to confront the ongoing anti-LGBTQ persecution in the Russian republic of Chechnya. The film’s original music is composed by Evgueni Galperine & Sacha Galperine (LovelessThe FamilyThe Wizard of LiesNine LivesBy the Grace of God). Premiering on Friday, July 3, is the Netflix original film Desperados directed by LP and starring Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp, Sarah Burns, Robbie Amell and Heather Graham. Mateo Messina (JunoBlockersBarely Lethal, Superstore, Why Women Kill, Tall GirlThe Wrong Missy) has composed the film’s original music. Also premiering on Friday is the Netflix original series The Baby-Sitters Club based on the book series of the same title by Ann M. Martin and starring Sophie Grace, Malia Baker, Momona Tamada, Shay Rudolph, Xochitl Gomez, as well as Alicia Silverstone and Mark Feuerstein. The show’s original music is composed by Jesse Novak (BoJack HorsemanThe Mindy Project, Tuca & Bertie). Also premiering on Friday is the filmed version of the original Broadway production of Hamilton with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and direction by Thomas Kail. The movie, which was filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in June of 2016, stars Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Miranda himself, Leslie Odom, Jr., Okieriete Onaodowan, Anthony Ramos and Phillipa Soo. The film was originally set to be released theatrically this fall and is now premiering exclusively on Disney+.
