Momentum RLP Records has released a soundtrack album for the Hallmark Hall of Fame original movie In My Dreams. The album features the film’s original music composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Tale of Despereaux, Tin Cup) who recorded the score at Abbey Road Studios in London. The soundtrack is now available digitally on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. In My Dreams is directed by Kenny Leon and stars Katherine McPhee, Mike Vogel and JoBeth Williams. The movie follows a bridge architect and a restaurant owner who throw a penny into the local fountain fabled for bringing lovers together and start having dreams about each other.

Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of the young adult novel Divergent directed by Neil Burger and starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Aaron Eckhart, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Ray Stevenson, Jai Courtney, Ashley Judd and Maggie Q. Interscope Records has released a soundtrack for the film featuring the film’s songs, including tracks by by Ellie Goulding, Zedd, Pia Mia feat. Chance The Rapper. M83, Snow Patrol and Skrillex. Also opening wide is Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted directed by James Bobin and starring the Muppets characters, alongside Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey. Bret McKenzie has written the film’s original songs and Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover) who also scored the 2011 Muppets feature has composed the film’s score. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film performed by the film’s cast, as well as a suite from Beck’s score. ’50 to 1′ Soundtrack Announced
Momentum RLP Records will release a soundtrack album for the sports drama 50 to 1. The album features the film’s original music composed by William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ladder 49, Tin Cup). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. 50 to 1 is directed by Jim Wilson (Head Above Waters) and stars Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane, William Devane, Todd Lowe, Madelyn Deutch and Calvin Borel. The movie tells the true story of a misfit group of New Mexico cowboys who find themselves on the journey of a lifetime when their crooked-footed racehorse qualifies for the Kentucky Derby. The drama will be released in theaters on March 21, 2014.
William Ross to Score Hallmark’s ‘In My Dreams’
William Ross has announced on Twitter that he will be scoring the upcoming Hallmark Hall of Fame romantic comedy In My Dreams. The film is directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun) and stars Katherine McPhee, Mike Vogel and JoBeth Williams. The movie follows a restaurant owner and a bridge architect who throw a penny into the local fountain fabled for bringing lovers together and start having dreams about each other, during which they fall in love. Teena Booth and Brent Shields (Remember Sunday, Christmas in Conway) is executive producing the project. Ross has previously collaborated with Leon on Lifetime’s Steel Magnolias remake.
William Ross Returns as Oscar Music Director
Academy Awards producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today that William Ross will return as music director for this year’s 86th Oscar ceremony. He previously served as music director on the 79th, 83rd and 85th Academy Awards. Ross whose film scoring credits include Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ladder 49, A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas and The Tale of Despereaux has also worked on the opening ceremonies of several Super Bowls, as well as the opening and/or closing ceremonies of five Olympic Games. The composer/arranger has earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Direction for his work on the 85th Academy Awards show.
Varese Celebrates 35th Birthday with Holiday Concert Gala
This past Saturday evening, Varese Sarabande hosted their 35th Anniversary Holiday Gala at the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro, California. The concert was hosted and produced by Robert Townson and performed by the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) and Chorale. The event was highlighted by music from Jon Favreau’s Elf, which was performed for the first time with a full choir and orchestra and was guest conducted by the film’s composer John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Iron Man 2). Also featured was a special performance of the holiday classic A Charlie Brown Christmas Classic prepared by composer and orchestrator William Ross (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Ladder 49). William Ross Scoring ’50 to 1′
William Ross is the composer of the upcoming sports family drama 50 to 1. The film is directed by Jim Wilson who is best known as an Academy Award-winning producer of such films as Dances with Wolves and The Bodyguard and whose previous directing credits include 1996’s Head Above Water. The movie starring Skeet Ulrich, Christian Kane, William Devane, Madelyn Deutch and Calvin Borel tells the true story of Kentucky Derby longshot Mine That Bird who won the Derby in 2009 and went on to finish second in the Preakness and third in the Belmont that year. Wilson co-wrote the script with Faith Conroy and is also producing the project.
Mychael Danna Wins Oscar for ‘Life of Pi’
Mychael Danna has won his first Academy Award in the Best Original Score category for his music for Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. The composer was also nominated for the first time. The other contenders in the category were John Williams (Lincoln), Alexandre Desplat (Argo), Dario Marianelli (Anna Karenina) and Thomas Newman (Skyfall). All five nominated composers were in attendance at the awards ceremony.
In the Best Original Song category, Adele Adkins and Paul Epworth received the award for the title song of the James Bond film Skyfall.
William Ross to Conduct Orchestra at 85th Academy Awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced today that William Ross will conduct the Oscar orchestra for the 85th Academy Awards later this month. The composer and arranger has previously conducted for the 79th and 83rd Academy Awards in 2007 and 2011. Ross has composed the music for such films as The Tale of Despereaux, Ladder 49, Tuck Everlasting and My Dog Skip. He also arranged music for artists including Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Buble. Oscars for outstanding film achievements of 2012 hosted by Seth MacFarlane will be presented on Oscar Sunday, February 24, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center.
