Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime docu-series Dark Net. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Justin Melland (Extremis, The Kill Team). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 8, 2017. The pre-order link will be added to this article soon. Dark Net is created by Mati Kochavi and explores the dangers of the internet’s unregulated underbelly known as the deep web. The series sheds light on themes such as bio-hacking, cyber-kidnapping, digital warfare, online cults, pornography addiction, the webcam sex trade and more.

Hauschka to Score Showtime’s & Sky Atlantic’s ‘Melrose’
Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) is set to score the upcoming Showtime and Sky Atlantic limited series Melrose. The show is developed by David Nicholls (Far from the Madding Crowd, One Day) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Hugo Weaving, Anna Madeley and Allison Williams. The 5-parter is based on the Patrick Melrose series of semi-autobiographical novels written by Edward St. Aubyn and centers on the title character’s odyssey from a deeply traumatic childhood through adult substance abuse and, ultimately, toward recovery.
‘The Putin Interviews’ Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for Showtime’s documentary The Putin Interviews have been announced. The album features the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Rome, Pollock, Appaloosa, Carnivale, Blackfish). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 30, 2017. A CD version is available for pre-order on Amazon. The Putin Interviews is directed by Oliver Stone who, alongside his longtime documentary producer Fernando Sulichin, interviewed the Russian president Vladimir Putin more than a dozen times over the course of two years, most recently in February following the U.S. presidential elections.

Jeff Beal Scoring Showtime’s ‘The Putin Interviews’
Jeff Beal has composed the score for the upcoming Showtime docu-series The Putin Interviews. The 4-parter is directed by Oliver Stone who, alongside his longtime documentary producer Fernando Sulichin, interviewed the Russian president Vladimir Putin more than a dozen times over the course of two years, most recently in February following the U.S. presidential elections. The series provides intimate insight into Putin’s personal and professional lives, from his childhood under communism, to his rise to power, his relations with four U.S. presidents, and his surprising takes on U.S.-Russian relations today. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the show next month.
Rhino Records to Release Soundtracks for Showtime’s ‘Twin Peaks’ Event Series
Rhino Records will release two soundtrack albums for Showtime’s Twin Peaks limited event series. The albums will feature the show’s original score composed by Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, The Straight Story, Mulholland Drive) who previously scored the original series, as well as the movie version. Also included is music by Chromatics. Both soundtracks will be released on September 8, 2017. The digital, CD and vinyl version of Twin Peaks (Music from the Limited Event Series) is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Badalamenti’s main titles theme (check out the titles sequence after the jump) and Chromatics’ Shadow from the show’s first episode are already available to download.

Making its U.S. debut tonight is the British mini-series Dark Angel developed by Gwyneth Hughes based on David Wilson’s book Mary Ann Cotton: Britain’s First Female Serial Killer and starring Joanne Froggatt, Alun Armstrong, Penny Layden, Laura Morgan, Jonas Armstrong, Sam Hoare, Emma Fielding and John Hollingworth. Michael J McEvoy (Me and Orson Welles, Forget Me Not) has composed the film’s original music. The 2-parter premiered in the UK last fall and will air in the U.S. on PBS. Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime mini-series Guerrilla. The album features the original score from the show composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Taboo, Waltz with Bashir, Disconnect, Miss Sloane). Also included are the songs from the drama by Noir, Femi Kuti, Osibisa, Judy Mowatt, Curtis Mayfield, The Pioneers & more. The soundtrack will be released on May 12, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Guerrilla is created John Ridley (12 Years a Slave) and stars Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto and Babou Ceesay. The 6-parter tells the story of a politically active couple whose relationship and values are tested when they liberate a political prisoner and form a radical underground cell in 1970s London.
