Max Richter is scoring the upcoming Showtime original series Guerrilla. The show is created John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, American Crime) and stars Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto and Babou Ceesay. The drama tells the story of a politically active couple whose relationship and values are tested when they liberate a political prisoner and form a radical underground cell in 1970s London. Ridley who is also directing the first two and final episodes and Elba are also executive producing the Fifty Fathoms and ABC Signature production with Michael J. McDonald (American Crime), Patrick Spence (Fortitude), Katie Swinden and Tracy Underwood.

Alex Ebert to Score Showtime’s ‘I’m Dying Up Here’
Alex Ebert has been tapped to score the upcoming Showtime original series I’m Dying Up Here. The show is created by Dave Flebotte (Just Before I Go) and stars Melissa Leo, Ari Graynor, Clark Duke, Michael Angarano, Andrew Santino, Erik Griffin, RJ Cyler, Al Madrigal and Jake Lacy. The comedy based on the non-fiction book of the same title by William Knoedelseder is set in L.A.’s famed ‘70s stand-up comedy scene and follows a brassy comedy club owner who mentors up-and-coming comedians with tough love. Flebotte is also executive producing the project with Jim Carrey, Michael Aguilar (The Crazies, What Happens in Vegas) and Christina Wayne (Copper).
Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘Billions’ to Be Released
Milan Records will release the first official soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Billions. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by ESKMO (aka Brendan Angelides). The soundtrack will be released on February 10, 2017. The full details of the second soundtrack album for the Showtime original series The Affair have been revealed. The album features selections of the music from the show’s second season composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, The Door in the Floor, The Words, Hollywoodland). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 9 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the first season. The Affair is created by Hagai Lemi & Sarah Treem and stars Dominic West, Ruth Wilson, Maura Tierney and Joshua Jackson.
‘Penny Dreadful’ Seasons 2 & 3 Soundtrack Details
The full details of the second soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Penny Dreadful have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second and third season composed by Golden Globe nominee Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, Nocturnal Animals, W.E., Escape from Tomorrow) who received three Emmy Award nominations for his work on the drama. The soundtrack will be released physically on December 16, 2016 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the first season. Penny Dreadful is created by John Logan and stars Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton, Rory Kinnear, Reeve Carney, Harry Treadaway, Billie Piper and Danny Sapani.
Angelo Badalamenti Featured in ‘Twin Peaks’ Teaser
Showtime has released a new teaser trailer for the revival of Twin Peaks. The teaser features composer Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, The Beach) playing his theme for the classic television show on the piano. The composer is on board to score the follow-up series. Check out the video after the jump. The new season of Twin Peaks is written and produced David Lynch & Mark Frost and is directed entirely by Lynch. The show picks up 25 years after the original series, which followed the FBI investigation conducted by special agent Dale Cooper into the murder of Laura Palmer in the fictional town of Twin Peaks, Washington.

Showtime’s ‘Dice’ to Feature Theme by Steve Marion & Score by Elegant Too
The composer duo of Elegant Too (aka Chris Maxwell and Phil Hernandez) is scoring the new Showtime original series Dice. Steve Marion aka Delicate Steve has written the main titles theme for the comedy created by Scot Armstrong (Old School, Road Trip, Starksy & Hutch) and starring Andrew Dice Clay in the title role, as well as Kevin Corrigan and Natasha Leggero. Lorraine Bracco, Adrien Brody and Michael Rapaport appear as guest stars. The show is based on the comedian’s real life as he moves his family to Las Vegas in hopes of making a comeback. Armstrong and Clay are also executive producing the Fox 21 Television Studios production with Sean & Bryan Furst (Daybreakers, The Cooler), Bruce Rubenstein, Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka (The Sitter).
