Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Narcos. The album features the show’s original music composed by Pedro Bromfman (RoboCop, Elite Squad). Also included is the main titles song Tuyo performed by Brazilian artist Rodrigo Amarante. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 21, 2015 and physically in September. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. Narcos is created by Jose Padhila and stars Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar, alongside Pedro Pascal, Boyd Holbrook, Juan Pablo Raba, Joanna Christie, Stephanie Sigman, Manolo Cardona, André Mattos, Luis Guzman and Ana de la Reguera.

Hollywood Composers Discuss Music for Action Movies at Newport Beach Film Festival
This past Sunday, the Newport Beach Film Festival Seminar Series presented the composer panel Lights, Camera, Action – Music for Action Films (and other genres). Tim Greiving moderated a panel of film composers who – challenged with the on-screen fights and explosions – offered insight into how the score works in harmony with the film’s visual elements, sound effects and getting all the elements to co-exist. Participating composers included Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover) who discussed the challenges of scoring this summer’s Edge of Tomorrow directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise. Christopher Young (Spider-Man 3, Entrapment) talked about his music for this year’s Chinese martial arts action movie The Monkey King, which became one the nation’s highest grossing film at the local box office.

Already in theaters since Wednesday is the sci-fi action movie RoboCop directed by José Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams and Samuel L. Jackson. Pedro Bromfman who previously scored Padilha’s Elite Squad movies has composed the film’s original score. Opening today is the fantasy romance Winter’s Tale directed by Akiva Goldsman and starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt, Russell Crowe, Eva Marie Saint,, Ripley Sobo and Mckayla Twiggs. The film’s music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception) and Rupert Gregson-Williams (Bee Movie, Click). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the song Miracle performed by KT Tunstall. ‘RoboCop’ Soundtrack Details
Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the sci-fi action adventure RoboCop. The album features the film’s original score composed by Pedro Bromfman (Elite Squad). The soundtrack will be released on February 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. RoboCop is directed by José Padilha and stars Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Samuel L. Jackson. The remake of the 1987 classic directed by Paul Verhoeven follows a Detroit police office who’s transformed into RoboCop after he’s critically injured in the line of duty. The movie will be released nationwide on February 12, 2014 by Sony Pictures.
Pedro Bromfman to Score ‘RoboCop’ Remake
Pedro Bromfman has officially been hired to score the upcoming RoboCop remake. The film is directed by Jose Padhila and stars Joel Kinnaman in the title role as a Detroit police office who’s transformed into RoboCop after he’s murdered while on duty. Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, John Paul Ruttan, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Ehle and Marianne Jean-Baptiste are co-starring. Eric Newman & Marc Abraham (Children of Men, Dawn of the Dead) and Roger Birnbaum (Wanted, Rush Hour) & Gary Barber (True Romance) are producing the Strike Entertainment, MGM and Columbia Pictures production. The film is a remake of the 1987 classic film directed by Paul Verhoeven, which featured a score by Basil Poledouris.
