WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Sense8. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer (Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run, The International, Perfume: Story of a Murderer). Also include are songs from the first season, including 4 Non Blondes’ What’s Up?, The Antlers’ Kettering, Seven Lions’ & Kerli’s Keep It Close and Sigur Rós’ Dauðalogn. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Sense8 is created by Lana & Andy Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski and stars Ami Ameen, Doona Bae, Terrence Mann, Tuppence Middleton, Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Max Riemelt, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Brian J. Smith, Daryl Hannah and Naveen Andrews.

Jaeil Jung Scoring Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Okja’
Jaeil Jung has recently composed the music for the upcoming monster movie Okja. The film is directed by Bong Joon Ho (Snowpiercer, The Host, Mother) and stars Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Seohyun An, Devon Bostick, Lily Collins, Byun Heebong, Shirley Henderson, Daniel Henshall, Yoon Je Moon, Choi Wooshik and Steven Yeun. The movie follows a young girl who must risk everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named ‘Okja’. Bong also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Ronson (Frank).

Premiering tonight is the Starz original series American Gods created by Bryan Fuller & Michael Green based on Neil Gaiman’s novel and starring Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover and Orlando Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Brian Reitzell (Hannibal, Friday Night Lights, 30 Days of Night). Also premiering tonight is the National Geographic documentary LA 92 directed by Dan Lindsay and TJ Martin about the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans (Enemy, The Gift, Martha Marcy May Marlene, The Discovery, The OA, The One I Love) have composed the film’s original music. Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Dear White People. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Kris Bowers (Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me, Little Boxes), as well as songs from the series by artists including Tkay Maidza feat. Killer Mike, Future, Innanet James, The Softones, Shamir, Thelma Houston, Anna Wise & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 28 and will be available to download on Amazon. Dear White People is created by Justin Simien based on his 2014 feature and stars Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori and Marque Richardson. The show follows a group of students of color who navigate the daily slights and slippery politics of life at an Ivy League college.
Nick Cave & Warren Ellis Scoring David Michod’s ‘War Machine’
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix original movie War Machine. The film is directed by David Michod (Animal Kingdom, The Rover) and stars Brad Pitt, Topher Grace, Emory Cohen, Tilda Swinton, Anthony Michael Hall, Will Poulter, Jonathan Ing and Ben Kingsley. The satire is based on the book The Operators by Michael Hastings and revolves around a four-star U.S. military general who is sent to Afghanistan to bring the war to an end, but finds he himself is the one under attack.
‘I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore. The album features the film’s original score composed by Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green Room, Blue Ruin, Small Crimes). Also included are the songs from the movie by Echo & The Bunnymen, Jason Newman, The Graverobbers, My New Mixtape & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 12, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore is written and directed by Macon Blair and stars Melanie Lynskey, Elijah Wood, David Yow, Jane Levy and Devon Graye. The movie follows a a depressed woman who – after being burglarized – finds a new sense of purpose by tracking down the thieves, alongside her obnoxious neighbor.
Blake Neely to Score Greg Berlanti’s ‘Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda’
Blake Neely revealed in a recent interview in Variety that he is set to reunite with Greg Berlanti on the upcoming feature coming-of-age comedy drama Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda. The film is directed by Berlanti and stars Nick Robinson, Jennifer Garner, Katherine Langford, Alexandra Shipp, Logan Miller, Tony Hale, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Miles Heizer and Talitha Bateman. The movie is based on Becky Albertalli’s 2015 book of the same title and centers on a gay teenager, who, after an email written by him falls into the wrong hands, is forced to find a way to step out of his comfort zone before being pushed out. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger wrote the screenplay.

Premiering tonight is the new Lifetime original series Mary Kills People created by Tara Armstrong and starring Caroline Dhavernas, Jay Ryan, Richard Short, Lyriq Bent, Greg Bryk and Charlotte Sullivan. The show’s original music is composed by John Rowley (Defendor, Weirdsville). Mary Kills People centers on a single mother who is an ER doctor by day, but by night, she and her partner, a former plastic surgeon, moonlight as underground angels of death and help terminally ill patients slip away on their own terms. Premiering on Tuesday, April 25, is National Geographic’s first scripted series Genius executive produced by Brian Grazer & Ron Howard and starring Geoffrey Rush, Johnny Flynn, Emily Watson, Nicholas Rowe, Samantha Colley, Jon Fletcher, Richard Topol and Alicia von Rittberg. Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Home, Terminator Genisys) is composing the show’s music and Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, Gladiator) wrote the main titles theme. Milan Records will release a soundtrack EP for the show this Friday, April 28 and a full soundtrack album is in the works for a release later this year. Tyler Bates to Score Marvel’s Netflix Series ‘The Punisher’
Tyler Bates has been hired to score Marvel’s upcoming Netflix original series The Punisher. The show is developed by Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) based on the Marvel Comic character and stars Jon Bernthal in the title role, alongside Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah, Deborah Ann Woll, Daniel Webber, Jason R. Moore, Paul Schulze and Jaime Ray Newman. The series revolves around Frank Castle, who after the murder of his family, is both haunted and hunted and becomes known as The Punisher in the criminal underworld.
Jeff & Mychael Danna to Score ‘Alias Grace’
Jeff and Mychael Danna have been hired to score the upcoming CBC and Netflix mini-series Alias Grace. The show is created Sarah Polley (Away From Her, Take This Waltz) and stars Sarah Gadon, Anna Paquin, Zachary Levi, Paul Gross, Edward Holcroft, Kerr Logan, Rebecca Liddiard and David Cronenberg. The 6-parter centers on Grace Marks, a poor, young Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott, was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer in 1843.
