Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun’ to Be Released
Maisie Music Publishing & etcetc Music will release the first soundtrack album for the Netflix sketch comedy series Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun. The album features the songs from the show’s first season written by Tom Armstrong and performed by the comedy trio Aunty Donna (Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly & Zachary Ruane). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 27 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon (and other digital music services). Aunty Donna’s Big Ol’ House of Fun is created by Armstrong, Sam Lingham, Max Miller, Bonanno, Kelly & Ruane, executive produced by Ed Helms and features Aunty Donna as they showcase their uniquely absurd and offbeat style through an array of sketches, songs and eclectic characters.

Premiering on Wednesday, January 28, is the Australian drama Penguin Bloom directed by Glendyn Ivin and starring Naomi Watts, Andrew Lincoln, Jacki Weaver, Griffin Murray-Johnston, Rachel House, Leeanna Walsman, Lisa Hensley, Felix Cameron and Abe Clifford-Barr. The film’s original music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, The Affair, Enough Said, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, The Door in the Floor). Alec Puro (The Art of Getting By, Higher Ground, The First Time, The Fosters, The Scribbler) is the composer of the new Netflix original series The Crew. The show is created by Jeff Lowell (The Ranch) and stars Kevin James, Freddie Stroma, Sarah Stiles, Gary Anthony Williams and Dan Ahdoot. The comedy revolves around a NASCAR crew chief who has to protect himself and his his tight-knit racing team when a new boss steps in and shakes things up.

Netflix announced today that Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Hotel Mumbai, Ammonite, The Old Guard, Patrick Melrose, The Art of Racing in the Rain) is set to score the upcoming drama Against the Ice. The film is directed by Peter Flinth (Arn: The Knight Templar, Nobel’s Last Wil) and stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Joe Cole, Charles Dance and Heida Reed. The movie based on the Danish novel Two Against the Ice by Ejnar Mikkelsen is set in the early 1900s and centers on Denmark’s Alabama Expedition, led by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen who was attempting to disprove the United States’ claim to North Eastern Greenland.

Lili Haydn Scoring Michèle Ohayon’s Netflix Documentary ‘Strip Down, Rise Up’
Lili Haydn (DriverX, Broken Kingdom, The House That Jack Built, Somewhere Between) has recently scored the new Netflix original documentary Strip Down, Rise Up. The film is directed by Michèle Ohayon (Colors Straight Up, Cowboy del Amor) and focuses on a diverse and vibrant group of women who heal their trauma and body image issues through sensual movement and the art of pole dancing. The movie follows women of all walks of life, all ages and ethnic backgrounds, as they shed trauma, shame, body image, sexual abuse and other issues locked in their bodies, and embark on a journey to reclaim themselves. Ohayon is also producing the project.
