Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) is producing the composers’ music for the show, which is created by Brad Neely (China, IL) and features the voices of Rhea Seehorn, Jason Lee, Ryan Flynn and Tatiana Maslany. The adult animated comedy follows an overconfident female head of a household as she struggles to regain a higher status for herself and for her family after losing her job and moving from the rich side to the poor side of a small town in Arkansas.

Mark Mothersbaugh Scoring ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’
Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenenbaums) is returning as the composer of the upcoming animated sequel Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. The film is directed by Jennifer Kluska & Derek Drymon (The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Adventure Time) and features the voices of Selena Gomez (who also serves as an executive producer), Andy Samberg, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, Brian Hull, Brad Abrell, Asher Blinkoff, Fran Drescher, Jim Gaffigan and Molly Shannon. The final chapter in the film series follows Drac and his monster pals as the are all transformed into humans, and Johnny becomes a monster. Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack) who helmed the previous three movies wrote the screenplay with Amos Vernon & Nunzio Randazzo based on a story by himself.
‘The Mitchells vs. The Machines’ Soundtrack Album Details
Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the animated feature The Mitchells vs. The Machines. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenebaums, 21/22 Jump Street, Hotel Transylvania). Also included is the original song On My Way performed by Alex Lahey. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 30 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Mitchells vs. The Machines is directed by Mike Rianda and features the voice talent of Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Eric André, Olivia Colman, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Rianda himself, Blake Griffin, Conan O’Brien and Charlyne Yi. The Sony Pictures Animation production follows the world’s weirdest family who has to save the human race when a robot apocalypse put the brakes on their cross-country road trip.

Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Feel The Thunder performed by HAIM. Opening in select theaters and on VOD this week is the biographical drama Stardust co-written and directed by Gabriel Range and starring Johnny Flynn, Jena Malone, Marc Maron, Anthony Flanagan, Aaron Poole, Derek Moran, Julian Richings and Monica Parker. Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Calibre, This Beautiful Fantastic, Lost Girls, The Pale Horse) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘The Croods: A New Age’ Soundtrack Album Details
Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s sequel The Croods: A New Age. The album features the film’s original score composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, THE LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, 21/22 Jump Street, Hotel Transylvania). Also included is HAIM’s original song Feel The Thunder, which was already released as a digital single last week, another original track by HAIM & Jack Black, as well as the cover version of I Think I Love You (originally written by Tony Romeo) performed by Black’s band Tenacious D. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 20 and will be available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio clips. A CD version will be released by Intrada Records and is available to order on Amazon.

The film is directed by Joel Crawford (Trolls Holiday) and features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Cloris Leachman, Clark Duke, Leslie Mann, Peter Dinklage and Kelly Marie Tran. The movie follows the title characters as they need a new place to live and set off into the world in search of a safer place to call home.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series Outcry directed by Pat Kondelis. The show’s original music is composed by Hanan Townshend (Knights of Cup, To the Wonder, Semper Fi, The Vessel). The 5-parter examines the story of high school football star Greg Kelley who was arrested, convicted and jailed for sexual assault of a 4-year-old boy, and his supporters’ quest for truth and justice. Premiering on Wednesday, July 8 is the Australian limited series Stateless created by Cate Blanchett, Elise McCredie & Tony Ayres and starring Blanchett, Yvonne Strahovski, Dominic West and Jai Courtney. Cornel Wilczek (Glitch, These Final Hours, Nowhere Boys) has composed the show’s original music. The drama follows four strangers as they intersect at an Australian immigration detention center. The series premiered earlier this year in Australia on ABC and is making its U.S. debut on Netflix.

Mark Mothersbaugh, Albert Fox & John Enroth have composed the original score for the new HBO Max original series Close Enough. The show is created by JG Quintel and features the voices of Quintel himself, James Adomian, Danielle Brooks, Jason Mantzoukas, Jessica DiCicco and Gabrielle Walsh. The animated comedy centers on a married couple, their five-year-old daughter, and their two divorced best friends/roommates all living together on the east side of Los Angeles as they are navigating that transitional time in your 30s when life is about growing up, but not growing old.
