Klaus Badelt‘s Label Zero has released the soundtrack album for the animated feature Jock of the Bushveld. The album includes selections from the film’s original score by Badelt and Ian Honeyman. Also featured on the soundtrack are original songs performed by Bryan Adams, Johnny Clegg, Mandy Patinkin, Craig Hinds, Nianell and James Carrington. The album is available to download on Amazon. Jock of the Bushveld directed by Duncan MacNeillie marks South Africa’s first 3D animated feature. The movie centers on the fearless dog Jock (voiced by Bryan Adams) who helps his master survive the wild challenges of the 1880s gold rush in the northeast of what would become South Africa. Donald Sutherland is narrating the film.

Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens directed by Jon Favreau, produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Paul Dano and Sam Rockwell. The film’s music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is now available to download on iTunes and will be released on CD on August 16. Also opening wide is the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love. directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, written by Dan Fogelman and starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon and Marisa Tomei. Christophe Beck and Nick Urata composed the movie’s score. A soundtrack album featuring twelve songs from the film has been released on Watertower Music. Soundtrack Album for Klaus Badelt’s ‘The Prodigies’ Score announced
Milan Records has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming French animated film The Prodigies. The album includes Klaus Badelt‘s original score from the movie, which was recorded with the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra. Also featured on the soundtrack are two songs by Outlines and Mowglly. The album will be released in Europe on June 13, 2011. No word yet on a domestic release. For audio clips, visit Amazon.co.uk. The Prodigies is directed by Antoine Charreyron and centers on five young prodigies assaulted in New York’s Central Park plot the perfect revenge.
‘Dylan Dog: Dead of Night’ Soundtrack released
Klaus Badelt has released the score for the horror comedy Dylan Dog: Dead of Night on his own label. The music is co-written by Badelt and Andrew Raiher. The soundtrack is available in Badelt’s online store on his website. All 27 score tracks can be previewed and downloaded for the price of your choice on the website. Dylan Dog: Dead of Night is directed by Kevin Munroe (TMNT) and stars Brandon Routh, Sam Huntington, Peter Stormare and Taye Diggs. The film was released on April 29 in theaters and is expected to be released on DVD later this summer.
Klaus Badelt Taking Over ‘Seven Days in Utopia’
Klaus Badelt is the new composer of the upcoming sports drama Seven Days in Utopia. He is replacing William Ross, who was originally attached to the project as reported last year. The film starring Robert Duvall, Melissa Leo and Lucas Black tells the story of Luke Chisolm, a talented young golfer set on making the pro tour. When his first big shot turns out to be a very public disaster, Luke escapes the pressures of the game and finds himself unexpectedly stranded in Utopia, Texas. A trailer for the movie directed by Matt Russell recently premiered and can be watched below.

Four new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expecting to enjoy the biggest box office debut of the year so far is the action sequel Fast Five. The film’s music is composed by Brian Tyler. Check out our news entry from yesterday for a video interview with Tyler and recording sessions footage from the project. A score album will be released next Tuesday by Varese Sarabande and is already available on iTunes and a song album with three score cues is coming out on ABCKO Records.
Also opening wide is the teen comedy Prom directed by Joe Nussbaum. The film’s score is by Deborah Lurie. As reported earlier this month, a soundtrack with songs from the movie has been released by Hollywood Records, but none of Lurie’s original score is included.
Klaus Badelt Scoring ‘Jock’
Klaus Badelt is scoring the upcoming 3D animated film Jock. The film based on Sir Percy Fitzpatrick’s classic book Jock on the Bushveld is directed by Duncan MacNeillie and marks South Africa’s first 3D animated feature film. While Badelt is writing the orchestral score for the film, the movie also includes original songs by Bryan Adams, Alan Menken and Johnny Clogg among other songwriters. Tim Rice (The Lion King, Aladdin) is the principal lyricist of the songs. Bryan Adams is also voicing the film’s central character of the fearless dog Jock who helps his master survive the wild challenges of the 1880s gold rush in the northeast of what would become South Africa. Donald Sutherland has signed on to narrate the film.
Klaus Badelt’s upcoming projects
Klaus Badelt has a number of movies coming out in 2011. Already recorded is the score for the horror comedy Dylan Dog: Dead of Night. The film based on the comic book series Dylan Dog centers around supernatural private eye, Dylan Dog, who seeks out the monsters of the Louisiana bayou in his signature red shirt, black jacket, and blue jeans. The film is directed by Kevin Munroe, who previously worked with Badelt on the 2007 animated film TMNT (Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles). The movie stars Brandon Routh, Sam Huntington, Peter Stormare and Taye Diggs. No domestic release date has been announced, but the movie is scheduled to open in March in Italy (click here to watch the Italian movie trailer). ‘Small World’ score by Klaus Badelt released
Klaus Badelt’s score for the French/German drama Small World has been made available on Klaus Badelt’s online store. The album contains contains 23 score tracks by Badelt, which can be downloaded for the price of your choice at Badelt’s website. The film directed by Bruno Chiche stars Gerard Depardieu and Alexandra Maria Lara. The movie will be released in Germany on December 16. Klaus Badelt’s score for the French thiller Point Blank (A Bout Portant) has been made available online at Badelt’s online store webpage. The soundtrack album includes 22 tracks from Badelt’s score, all of which can be previewed and downloaded for free on the page. Apart from downloading the score in 320k mp3 or FLAC format, you can also order a physical CD on the webpage. Point Blank is directed by Fred Cavaye, who previously worked with Badelt on the 2008 thriller Anything for You (Pour elle), which recently has been remade in Hollywood as The Next Three Days starring Russell Crowe and scored by Danny Elfman.
