Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Land of Sometimes. The album features the film’s original score composed by Terry Davies (Play Without Words, Tiddler, The Scarecrows’ Wedding, Revolting Rhymes, The Car Man). Also included are the movie’s original songs track by Academy Award winner Tim Rice (The Lion King, Aladdin, Evita) & Pete Hobbs and performed by the project’s voice cast, including the title track, which has previously been released as a digital single earlier this month. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to a score track and several of the songs after the jump. Tim Rice & Andrew Lloyd Webber to Write New Songs for ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ Film Adaptation
Tim Rice (The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Road to El Dorado) has revealed in a recent interview with The Irish News that he is co-writing new original songs for the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Andrew Lloyd Webber (The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita). Jon M. Chu (Wicked, Crazy Rich Asians) is attached to direct the movie based on the duo’s Tony Award-winning show, which tells the biblical story of Jacob’s favorite son Joseph and his eleven brothers and which premiered in the West End in 1972 and on Broadway in 1983. Scott Sanders (The Color Purple, The Odd Life of Timothy Green) and Mara Jacobs (In the Heights) are producing the project for SGS Pictures and Chu and Lance Johnson (Thai Cave Rescue) are producing for Electric Somewhere.

Walt Disney Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1992 animated classic Aladdin directed by John Musker & Ron Clements and starring Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried & Douglas Seale. The Legacy Collection release coincides with the movie’s 30th anniversary and features the original songs from the film written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted, Tangled) and featuring lyrics by Howard Ashman (Beauty and the Beast) & Tim Rice (The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar), the remastered original score by Menken, as well as outtakes and alternate tracks.

The full details of the soundtrack album for Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin have been revealed. The album features all the songs from the movie, including new versions of the classic songs from the 1992 animated feature composed by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted) and featuring lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, as well as new songs by Menken featuring lyrics by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman). Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the NBC television event Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. The album features the songs from the TV special written by Andrew Llyod Webber and Tim Rice and performed by John Legend, Sara Bareilles, Alice Cooper and other cast members. The soundtrack will be released on April 6, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert based on the 1971 Broadway musical is executive produced by Webber, Rice, Marc Platt, Craig Zadan & Neil Meron (Hairspray, Chicago) and revolves around the last week of Jesus’ life, told from the perspective of infamous betrayer Judas Iscariot.

STX Entertainment announced today during the studio’s presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice are writing new songs for an upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Also on board the project is Elton John who is producing the project for his Rocket Pictures company. The movie tells the biblical story of Joseph, the favorite son of Jacob, who is sold into slavery by his jealous siblings.

Josh Groban Records Original Song ‘Evermore’ for ‘Beauty and the Beast’
Walt Disney Records announced today that Josh Groban has recorded the original Evermore for Disney’s upcoming live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The song, which is performed in the movie by the Beast (Dan Stevens) after he releases Belle (Emma Watson) to be with her father, is written by Academy Award winners Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Enchanted) and lyricist Tim Rice (The Lion King, Evita). The version performed by Groban appears in the movie’s end credits. As previously reported, Celine Dion has also recorded an original song written by the songwriters. All songs from the movie, as well as Menken’s original score will be included on the soundtrack album, which will be released on March 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order here (regular edition) and here (deluxe edition).

Walt Disney Pictures announced today that Celine Dion will perform the new original song, How Does A Moment Last Forever, for the studio’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. The track is written by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) and lyricist Tim Rice (The Lion King, Evita). Portions of the song are performed throughout the film and interpolated into the underscore before Dion’s full-length version debuts during the film’s end credits. The song is also included on the official soundtrack album, which will be released on March 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
