Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Swan Song, Franklin, Indignation, I Carry You with Me, We Grown Now, Fire Island) is the composer of the new Apple TV+ limied series Before. The show is created by Sarah Torp (The Bounty Hunter, Twisted) and stars Billy Crystal, Judith Light, Rosie Perez, Jacobi Jupe, Maria Dizzia and Ava Lalezarzadeh. The 10-part supernatural mystery thriller follows a child psychiatrist who – after recently losing his wife – encounters a troubled young boy who seems to have a haunting connection to his past.

Cat Missal’s ‘Crazy’ Cover from Hulu’s ‘Tell Me Lies’ Season 2 Released
Hollywood Records has released the cover version of the Gnarls Barkley song Crazy from the second season of the Hulu original series Tell Me Lies. The track (originally written by Brian Burton, Thomas Callaway, Gian Franco & Gian Pero Reverberi) produced the show’s composer Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Franklin, Swan Song, Fire Island) and performed by Cat Missal (who stars as Bree) and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Tell Me Lies is created by Meaghan Oppenheimer based on Carola Lovering’s novel of the same title and also stars Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Spencer House, Branden Cook, Sonia Mena, Alicia Crowder and Tom Ellis.
Jay Wadley & Trevor Gureckis Scoring Scott McGehee’s & David Siegel’s ‘The Friend’
Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Swan Song, Franklin, Indignation, I Carry You with Me, Fire Island) & Trevor Gureckis (Servant, Old, The Crowded Room, The Goldfinch, Dead Space, Voyagers) have teamed up to score the upcoming drama The Friend. The film is written and directed by Scott McGehee & David Siegel (The Deep End, Bee Season) and stars Naomi Watts, Bill Murray, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd, Sarah Pidgeon, Noma Dumezweni, Carla Gugino, Felix Solis and Owen Teague. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Sigrid Nunez follows a New York writer in the aftermath of her lifelong friend and mentor’s unexpected death as she has to deal with his complicated literary legacy, his eccentric ex-wives – and a massive Great Dane named Apollo.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the vampire horror movie Abigail directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett and starring Melissa Barrera, Alisha Weir, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Angus Cloud, Kevin Durand and Giancarlo Esposito. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Crazy Rich Asians, Fast & Furious, Yellowstone, Ready or Not). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song by Jean Dawson today. Also opening wide is the action comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Henry Golding, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Til Schweiger and Cary Elwes. Chris Benstead (The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, Wrath of Man, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre) has composed the film’s original music. ‘We Grown Now’ Soundtrack Album Details
Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the drama We Grown Now. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Franklin, Swan Song, Indignation, I Carry You with Me, Fire Island, Tales from the City). The soundtrack will be released digitally in select digital music stores on April 19 and on all major digital music platforms next Friday, April 26 (visit Amazon or any other major digital music services to stream/download). We Grown Now is written and directed by Minhal Baig and stars Blake Cameron James, Gian Knight Ramirez, S. Epatha Merkerson, Lil Rel Howery and Jurnee Smollett. The movie revolves around two young boys who discover the joys and hardships of growing up in the sprawling Cabrini-Green public housing complex in 1992 Chicago.

Platoon will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ limited series Franklin. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 12 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Franklin is written by Kirk Ellis & Howard Korder based on Stacy Schiff’s book A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America and stars Michael Douglas, Noah Jupe, Thibault de Montalembert, Daniel Mays, Ludivine Sagnier, Eddie Marsan, Assaad Bouab, Jeanne Balibar and Theodore Pellerin. The 8-part historical drama directed by Tim Van Patten tells the story of Benjamin Franklin’s greatest gamble when he embarks on a secret eight-year mission to France in 1776 as the fate of American independence hangs in the balance.

Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British limited series Mr Bates vs the Post Office written by Gwyneth Hughes, directed by James Strong and starring Toby Jones, Monica Dolan, Alex Jennings, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Ian Hart, Will Mellor, Lia Williams, Shaun Dooley, Clare Calbraith, Lesley Nicol, Amit Shah, Adam James and Katherine Kelly. The show’s original music is composed by Vince Pope (True Detective: Night Country, No Offence, Black Mirror: Be Right Back, Resistance, You & Me, Misfits, Wolfe). The 4-parter, which tells the story of the real-life British Post Office scandal that has set off a firestorm of public outrage forcing the Prime Minister to act, premiered in the UK earlier this year on ITV and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Thursday, April 11 is the Prime Video original series Fallout developed by Geneva Robertson-Dworet & Graham Wagner based on the video game series and starring Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, Moisés Arias, Michael Emerson, Kyle MacLachlan, Frances Turner, Leslie Uggams, Johnny Pemberton and Sarita Choudhury. Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Westworld, Uncharted, House of the Dragon, Eternals) has composed the show’s original music. Fire Island is directed by Andrew Ahn and stars Joel Kim Booster (who also wrote the screenplay), Bowen Yang, Zane Phillips, Tomas Matos, James Scully, Matt Rogers, Nick Adams, Conrad Ricamora, Torian Miller and Margaret Cho. The Pride and Prejudice-inspired movie follows two best friends who set out to have a legendary week-long summer vacation with the help of cheap rosé and a cadre of eclectic friends.

Premiering tomorrow, May 31, is the CW drama Tom Swift created by Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau & Cameron Johnson starring Tian Richards, Ashleigh Murray, April Parker Jones, Marquise Vilsón, Albert Mwangi and LeVar Burton. The show’s original music is composed by Matthew Head (P-Valley, Boomerang, The Family Business). The series, which is inspired by the Tom Swift book series and revolves around the title character who was introduced in the network’s Nancy Drew, will air every Tuesday on the CW.
Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, June 2, is the British drama This Is Going to Hurt created by Adam Kay based on his book of the same name and starring Ben Whishaw, Hannah Onslow, Ambika Mod, Michele Austin, Rosie Akerman and Andreea Paduraru. JARV IS…, led by Jarvis Cocker (of Pulp), have composed the film’s original music. Rough Trade Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the artist’s score and songs earlier this year.
