The details of the soundtrack album for Andrew Haigh’s drama Lean on Pete have been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Edward Barker (Heist, Precious Cargo, Rise of the Footsoldier 3). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 27 by Varese Sarabande and will be available to download on Amazon. Lean on Pete is written and directed by Haigh and stars Charlie Plummer, Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny, Travis Fimmel, Steve Zahn, Amy Seimetz and Thomas Mann. The movie is based on Willy Vlautin’s novel of the same title and follows a fifteen-year-old boy who hooks up with a pair of itinerant horse trainers and develops a powerful bond with a racehorse on its last legs.

Four new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller A Quiet Place directed by John Krasinski and starring Krasinski himself, Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, Scream, World War Z, The Hurt Locker, The Wolverine). Also opening wide is the comedy Blockers directed by Kay Cannon and starring Leslie Mann, Ike Barinholtz, John Cena, Kathryn Newton, Geraldine Indira Viswanathan and Gideon Adlan. Mateo Messina (Juno, Casual, Superstore, Butter, Barely Lethal) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced. ‘Rise of the Footsoldier 3’ Soundtrack Released
Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album for the British crime thriller Rise of the Footsoldier 3. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Edward Barker (Lean on Pete, London Heist) & Tim Despic (Heist, Precious Cargo). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Rise of the Footsoldier 3 is directed by Zackary Alder and stars Craig Fairbass, Terry Stone, Shaun Ryder, JJ Hamblett, Larry Lamb and Jamie Foreman. The movie is based on the real-life story of the Rettendon Triple Murders, known as the “Range Rover murders” and tells the story of Pat Tate’s rise to notoriety in Essex gangland.
James Edward Barker to Score Scott Mann’s ‘Final Score’
James Edward Barker has been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Final Score. The film is directed by Scott Mann and stars Dave Bautista, Pierce Brosnan, Alexandra Dinu, Ray Stevenson and Julian Cheung. The movie follows an ex-soldier who must use all his military skills to save a 35,000 capacity crowd stadium that is seized during a sporting event by a group of heavily armed criminals. The Brothers Lynch wrote the screenplay with Jonathan Frank (The Tournament). Marc Goldberg is producing the project with Robert Jones (Dirty Pretty Things, Centurion), James Harris & Mark Lane (47 Meters Down) and Wayne Marc Godfrey (The Foreigner).

The film is written and directed by Andrew Haigh (45 Years, Looking, Weekend) and stars Charlie Plummer, Steve Buscemi, Chloe Sevigny, Travis Fimmel, Steve Zahn, Amy Seimetz, and Thomas Mann. The movie is based on Willy Vlautin’s novel of the same title and follows a fifteen-year-old boy who takes a summer job with a washed-up horse trainer and befriends a failing racehorse named Lean On Pete. Tristan Goligher (45 Years) is producing the project for The Bureau.

Opening nationwide this week is the fantasy adventure The Huntsman: Winter’s War directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and starring Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt, Nick Frost, Sam Claflin, Rob Brydon and Jessica Chastain. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, Maleficent, The Sixth Sense). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as a new version of the song Castle by Halsey arranged by the Howard. Opening in around 400 theaters is the comedy drama A Hologram for the King written and directed by Tom Tykwer and starring Tom Hanks, Alexander Black, Sarita Choudhury, Ben Winshaw, Tom Skerritt, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Jay Abdo. Tykwer (The International, Cloud Atlas, Run Lola Run) has also written the film’s original music with Johnny Klimek (One Hour Photo, Sense8). ‘Precious Cargo’ to Feature Music by James Edward Barker & Tim Despic
James Edward Barker and Tim Despic have recently composed the music for the upcoming action thriller Precious Cargo. The film is directed by Max Adams and stars Bruce Willis, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Claire Forlani, Daniel Bernhardt, Nick Loeb, Lydia Hull, John Brotherton, Tyler Jon Olson, Sammi Barber and Jenna Kelly. The movie follows a crime boss trying to score the profits from another crook’s heist. Adams has also written the screenplay with Paul Seetachit. The composer is also producing the movie with Randall Emmett, Norton Herrick & George Furla (Lone Survivor, 2 Guns) and Scott Mann (The Tournament).
‘Heist’ Soundtrack Details
Metropolis Movie Music will release a soundtrack album for the thriller Heist. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Edward Barker and Tim Despic. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 11, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Heist is directed by Scott Mann and stars Robert De Niro, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kate Bosworth, Gina Carano, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, D.B. Sweeney, Tyler J. Olson, Morris Chestnut, Lydia Hull and Dave Bautista. The movie follows two men whose attempt to rob a casino fails and forces them to flee on foot and hijack city Bus 657 and take the passengers hostage.

The film’s original score is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Paddington). Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Otis Redding, Sixpence None the Richer, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, as well as track from the score. James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man) has composed the film’s original music. The movie is also dedicated to the late composer.
