La-La Land Records has released a soundtrack album for the sci-fi adventure series Terra Nova. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Brian Tyler (Fast Five, Eagle Eye, The Expendables). The composer recorded his score for the full season with a full orchestra. The 2-CD set is limited to 3000 copies and is available to order on the label’s website, where you can also listen to audio clips. Terra Nova executive produced by Brannon Braga and Steven Spielberg and starring Jason O’Mara, Shelly Conn, Stephen Lang, Christine Adams, Allison Miller, Landon Liboiron, Naomi Scott, Rod Hallett and Alana Mansour premiered last fall on FOX. The complete series about a family that travels 85 million years into the past to an Earth of a parallel Universe is now available on DVD.

Only one new network drama is making its series debut this week:
Premiering tonight is the mystery drama 666 Park Avenue created by David Wilcox (Fringe) and starring Rachael Taylor, Dave Annable, Vanessa Williams, Terry O’Quinn, Mercedes Masöhn, Robert Buckley, Helena Mattsson, Erik Palladino and Samantha Logan. The show’s music is composed by Trevor Morris (Immortals, The Borgias, The Tudors). To find out more about the series and the music, check out our previous article. The show about a couple who learns that the Manhattan building complex that they just moved into might be possessed by a mysterious demonic force will be airing every Sunday night on ABC.
‘Fringe’ Season 4 Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the new soundtrack release for the FOX sci-fi mystery series Fringe. The album features selections from the show’s original score from the fourth season composed by Chris Tilton. The fourth season of Fringe created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and starring Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and John Noble has recently been released on Blu-Ray and DVD. The fifth and final season is set to premiere tonight, September 28 on Fox.
Michael Andrews Scoring Fox’s ‘Ben and Kate’
Michael Andrews is scoring the new FOX comedy Ben and Kate. The show is created by Dana Fox (What Happens in Vegas, Couples Retreat) and stars Nat Faxon, Dakota Johnson, Lucy Punch, Maggie Elizabeth Jones, Echo Kellum. The series follows a pair of odd-couple siblings and their friends as they push each other out of their comfort zones and into real life. Fox is executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Peter Chernin (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and Katherine Pope (Terra Nova). The trio is also executive producing the Fox hit show New Girl, for which Andrews co-wrote the title song. Jake Kasdan who has previously collaborated with the composer several times, including on the hit features Bad Teacher and Orange County and the TV show Freaks and Geeks, has directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing.

A number of new TV shows are premiering this week:
Premiering this Monday, September 17 on NBC is the new drama Revolution created by Eric Kripke, produced by J.J. Abrams and starring Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridako, Elizabeth Mitchell, Anna Lise Phillips, Zak Orth and Giancarlo Esposito. Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Hop) who is also scoring the Kripke-created CW series Supernatural is writing the original music for the sci-fi show, which follows follows a group of people struggling to survive and reunite with loved ones in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist. Jon Favreau (Iron Man) has directed the pilot episode, which is now available to download for free on iTunes.
Scott Starrett to Score FOX’s ‘The Mob Doctor’
Scott Starrett has been hired to score the new FOX drama The Mob Doctor. The show created by Josh Berman and Rob Wright stars Jordana Spiro as a doctor torn between the physician’s Hippocratic Oath and her own family’s mob ties. William Forsythe, Jaime Lee Kirchner, James Carpinello, Jesse Lee Soffer and Zach Gilford are co-starring. Michael Dinner (Sons of Anarchy, The Wonder Years) has directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Berman and Wright.
‘Fringe’ Season 4 Soundtrack Announced

Christophe Beck Scoring ‘The Guilt Trip’
Christophe Beck is scoring the upcoming comedy The Guilt Trip. The film directed by Anne Fletcher (The Proposal, 28 Dresses) stars Seth Rogen as an inventor who invites his overbearing mother, played by Barbra Streisand, on a cross-country trip as he tries to sell his new product while also reuniting her with a lost love. Yvonne Strahovski, Colin Hanks and Adam Scott are co-starring. Dan Fogelman (Crazy.Stupid.Love, Cars) has written the screenplay and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, The Green Hornet), Lorne Michaels (30 Rock, Mean Girls) & John Goldwyn (Dexter,Baby Mama) are producing the Paramount Pictures production.
Fall 2011 Television Music Roundup (Part 1): FOX
Following our television music series from the summer, Film Music Reporter presents a listing of this fall’s new network dramas and comedies and its composers, as well as the major new cable shows of the season that feature original music. Currently finishing up its premiere season is the sci-fi adventure show Terra Nova produced by Steven Spielberg and Brannon Braga and starring Jason O’Mara, Stephen Lang, Shelley Conn, Landon Liboiron and Naomi Scott. Brian Tyler is the composer of all 13 episodes of the first season. Two videos from the orchestral recording sessions of the score on the Fox Scoring Stage can be checked out on YouTube (Cycles of Time and Magical Journey). Also check out an interview with the composer about his work on the show on Tracksounds, during which he announced that a score album is in the works.
Wendy & Lisa to Score Tim Kring’s ‘Touch’
Wendy & Lisa are set to score the upcoming FOX drama Touch. The series is created by Tim Kring and centers on a widower whose mute 11-year-old son possesses the ability to detect patterns that connect seemingly unrelated events. The show stars Kiefer Sutherland, David Mazuoz, Danny Glover and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. Francis Lawrence (Constantine, I Am Legend) directed the pilot and will also executive produce the project with Sutherland, Peter Chernin & Katherine Pope (Terra Nova) and Suzan Bymel (The War at Home). Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman have previously scored Kring’s hit shows Heroes and Crossing Jordan. Fox has recently ordered a first season of 13 episodes for Touch, which is scheduled to air next spring on the network.
