Music.Film Recordings has announced two soundtrack albums for The Jim Henson Company’s Netflix original series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. The Volume 1 soundtrack features selections of the original music from the show composed by Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Ocean’s 8, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.) and the Volume 2 soundtrack features music by Pemberton and Samuel Sim (Awake, The Halcyon, Home Fires). Both Vol. 1 & Vol. 2 albums will be released digitally on August 30. CD versions will be coming out on November 15 (click here to order Vol. 1 and click here to order Vol. 2). The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance directed by Louis Leterrier is a prequel to the classic 1982 feature (scored by Trevor Jones), and follows three young Gelflings as they inspire a rebellion against the cruel emperor when they discover a horrifying secret.

‘Motherless Brooklyn’ Soundtrack Album Announced
WaterTower Music has announced a soundtrack album for the crime drama Motherless Brooklyn. The album features the original song Daily Battles written by Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and performed by himself and his Atoms For Peace bandmate Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), as well as a second version of the song arranged and performed by Wynton Marsalis. Both version are now available to stream and download. Also included on the album are tracks performed by Marsalis, Joe Farnsworth, Russell Hall, Isaiah J. Thompson & Jerry Weldon, as well as the Motherless Brooklyn Theme performed by Marsalis, Willie Jones III, Philip Norris, Isaiah J. Thompson, Ted Nash & the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs).
Daniel Pemberton to Score Harry Bradbeer’s ‘Enola Holmes’
Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Yesterday) has signed on to score the upcoming mystery adventure Enola Holmes. The film is directed by Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag) and stars Millie Bobby Brown in the title role as Sherlock Holmes’s much younger – and equally intelligent – sister, as well as Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Sam Claflin, Helena Bonham Carter, Fiona Shaw, Adeel Akhtar, Frances de la Tour, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma and Burn Gorman.

The album features features the Beatles covers from the movie performed by lead actor Himesh Patel (including a duet version of I Want To Hold Your Hand performed by Patel & Lily James). Also included are tracks from the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Ocean’s 8, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.). The soundtrack will be released on June 21, 2019 by Universal Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (digital version) and here (CD version). Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) has recently scored the upcoming crime drama Motherless Brooklyn. Radiohead member Thom Yorke has contributed an original song for the drama written and directed by Edward Norton who also stars in the movie, alongside Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Bobby Cannavale, Cherry Jones, Michael Kenneth Williams, Leslie Mann, Ethan Suplee, Dallas Roberts, Josh Pais, Robert Ray Wisdom, Fisher Stevens, Alec Baldwin and Willem Dafoe. The movie follows a lonely private detective living with with Tourette Syndrome as he ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend.

The film is directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting) and stars Himesh Patel, Lily James, Kate McKinnon and Ed Sheeran. The movie follows a struggling singer whose dreams are fading who wakes to discover that The Beatles have never existed and finds himself with a very complicated problem. Richard Curtis (Love Actually, Notting Hill) wrote the screenplay.

Premiering tomorrow, January 14, is the Fox drama The Passage developed by Liz Heldens based on Justin Cronin’s book series and starring Saniyya Sidney, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Caroline Chikezie, Henry Ian Cusick, Vincent Piazza and Emmanuelle Chriqui. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie, Waco) are composing the show’s original music. Daniel Pemberton Scoring HBO’s ‘Brexit’
Daniel Pemberton has announced that he has composed the original score for the upcoming HBO original movie Brexit. The film is directed by Toby Haynes and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Dominic Cummings, who spearheaded the Vote Leave campaign and Rory Kinnear as Craig Oliver, Prime Minister David Cameron’s director of communications and head of the Remain campaign. The drama goes behind the scenes, revealing the personalities, strategies and feuds of the Leave and Remain campaigns. James Graham (A Brilliant Young Mind) wrote the script and is also executive producing the HBO Films, BBC Studios and Channel 4 production with Juliette Howell (London Spy) and Tessa Ross.
