BBC America announced today that Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and the team at Bleeding Fingers Music have created new compositions for BBC America’s upcoming television event Planet Earth: A Celebration, which highlights eight of the most extraordinary sequences from the Emmy-winning docu-series Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II. They have also rearranged the original scores from the two shows for the new TV special. The string section of the score is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, accompanied by Brit and Mercury Award-winning UK rapper, Dave, who performs on the grand piano. Sir David Attenborough has provided new narration for the project.

Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+ Docu-Series ‘Home’ Released
Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ docu-series Home. ‘Apollo: Missions to the Moon’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the National Geographic documentary Apollo: Missions to the Moon. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Everingham for Bleeding Fingers Music and produced by Hans Zimmer & Russell Emanuel. Apollo: Missions to the Moon is directed by Tom Jennings (Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes, Diana: In Her Own Words) and recounts the United States’ remarkable journey to land on the Moon before 1970. The movie covers the Apollo Space Program with raw media, eschewing narration for footage and audio of the program, including samples of never-before-audio pulled from over 800 hours of recordings and Apollo black box recordings.

BBC Studios has announced that Hans Zimmer and Jacob Shea will compose the theme and score for the upcoming BBC Earth natural history series One Planet, Seven Worlds. The show is presented and executive produced by Sir David Attenborough and will reveal how each distinct continent has shaped the unique animal life found there. Each of the series’ seven episodes will transport viewers to a single continent and tell the story of its spectacular wildlife and iconic landscapes.
Soundtrack Album for National Geographic’s ‘Symphony for Our World’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for National Geographic’s Symphony for Our World. The album features the music from the television event composed by Austin Fray & Andrew Christie for Bleeding Fingers Music. They have collaborated with the rock band X Ambassadors on several tracks. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 20 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Symphony for Our World is a 90-minute live orchestral performance, which will be presented in concert venues around the world with imagery and storytelling from 130 years of National Geographic history matched in perfect synchronization with a live orchestra and choir.

Blue Planet II presented and narrated by David Attenborough, which is a sequel to the 2001 series Blue Planet, explores the underwater worlds, and was filmed over 4 years with 125 expeditions across 39 countries and 6000 hours of underwater filming.
Bleeding Fingers Music Taking Over Scoring Duties on ‘The Simpsons’
The music production house Bleeding Fingers Music has taken over scoring duties on the Fox animated series The Simpsons. Hans Zimmer and Russell Emanuel serve as score producers and Steven Kofsky is credited as the score executive producer. The composers are replacing Alf Clausen who has scored most of the episodes of the previous 28 seasons of the series. Danny Elfman’s main titles theme for the show is still being used. Zimmer has previously scored 2007’s The Simpsons Movie.
Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea & Jasha Klebe to Score BBC’s ‘Blue Planet II’
BBC America announced today that Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and Jasha Klebe are scoring the upcoming BBC docu-series Blue Planet II for Bleeding Fingers Music. The 7-part series is presented and narrated by Sir David Attenborough and will immerse audiences in the world’s oceans, which are still the most expansive but least known parts of our planet. The show is produced by BBC Studios Natural History Unit, BBC America, WDR and France Télévisions in partnership with The Open University.

Premiering on Tuesday, February 14, is the Netflix original movie Girlfriend’s Day directed by Michael Stephenson and starring Bob Odenkirk, Amber Tamblyn, Natasha Lyonne. The film’s original music is composed by Bobby Tahouri (Husk, Across the Hall, Rise of the Tomb Raider video game). Girlfriend’s Day follows an unemployed greeting card writer must who gets caught up in a conspiracy and must create the perfect card for a new holiday to save his skin. The comedy will be available to stream on Netflix on Tuesday.
Premiering in the U.S. on Saturday, February 18, is the BBC Earth documentary series Planet Earth narrated by David Attenborough, executive produced by Michael Gunton and produced by Tom Hugh-Jones.
