British singer/songwriter Ray BLK (aka Rita Ekwhere) will serve as the music executive producer on the upcoming BBC/Netflix series Champion. The show is created by Candice Carty-Williams and stars Déja J Bowens, Malcolm Kamulete, Nadine Marshall, Ray Fearon, Jo Martin, Kerim Hassan, Adeyinka Akinrinade, Genesis Lynea, Tom Forbes, Francis Lovehall, Karl Collins, Corey Weekes and Rachel Adedeji. Ray BLK will also star in the musical drama, which is set in south London and centers on the rivalry between a rap sensation who is home from prison and his dutiful younger sister whose own talent is discovered and steps out of her brother’s shadow.

Carly Paradis (Line of Duty, The Innocents, The Rising, The Pembrokeshire Murders, Sick Note, Prime Suspect 1973) is the composer of the new BBC series The Control Room. The show is written by Nick Leather (Murdered For Being Different, Rocket’s Island) and stars Iain De Caestecker and Joanna Vanderham. The 3-part thriller follows an an emergency call handler for the Strathclyde Ambulance Service in Glasgow whose world is turned upside down when he receives a desperate life-and-death call from a distressed woman who appears to know him.
Isobel Waller-Bridge Scoring BBC’s ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’
BBC announced today that Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, The Phantom of the Open, Emma, Vita & Virginia, Munich: The Edge of War, Roar, Vanity Fair) has composed the original music for the upcoming animated Christmas animated special The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. The composer’s score is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and conducted by Geoff Alexander and will be featured in the animated short based on Charlie Mackesy’s bestselling illustrated book of the same title and starring Tom Hollander, Idris Elba, Gabriel Byrne and Jude Coward Nicol.

The special based on the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler is set on a far-off planet and tells the story of two aliens from two different families who have always avoided each other and fall in love.
