Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the supernatural thriller Ouija. The album features the film’s original music composed by Anton Sanko (The Possession, Rabbit Hole, Big Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 21, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Ouija is directed by Stiles White and stars Olivia Cooke, Daren Kagasoff, Douglas Smith, Bianca Santos and Ana Coto. The movie produced by Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Andrew Form & Brad Fuller and Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum follows a group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (February 7, 2014)
Three new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature The Lego Movie directed by Phil Lord & Chris Miller and featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day and Morgan Freeman. Mark Mothersbaugh who previously scored Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street for the directors has composed the film’s original music. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Everything Is AWESOME!!! by Tegan and Sara featuring The Lonely Island. Also opening wide is the historical drama The Monuments Men directed by George Clooney who also stars in the film alongside Matt Damon, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville and John Goodman. Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Argo, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) has composed the film’s original music and also has a cameo appearance in the movie. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Anton Sanko Scoring ‘Alpha House’
Anton Sanko is composing the score for Amazon’s original series Alpha House. The show is created Academy Award nominee and Pulitzer Prize winner Garry Trudeau (A Doonesbury Special) and stars John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy and Mark Consuelos, Cynthia Nixon, Amy Sedaris, Wanda Sykes and Julie White. The political comedy four misfit senators turned unlikely roommates who move into a house together in Washington DC. Trudeau is producing the project with Elliot Webb and Jonathan Alter. Alpha House is one of Amazon’s first two scripted series and is set to premiere on November 15.
Weekly TV Music Roundup (May 26, 2013)
Premiering tonight is the HBO original movie Behind the Candelabra directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas, Matt Damon, Dan Aykroyd, Rob Lowe, Scott Bakula and Debbie Reynolds. Late composer Marvin Hamlisch (The Sting, The Way We Were) served as the executive music producer on the project. Elektra Records has released a soundtrack album featuring music adapted by Hamlisch, as well as several pieces by pianist Liberace, played in the film by Douglas. Anton Sanko to Score ‘Jessabelle’
Anton Sanko has been hired to score the upcoming horror film Jessabelle. The film is directed by Kevin Greutert (Saw VI, Saw 3D: The Final Chapter) and stars Sarah Snook as a woman who is forced to return to her father’s home in Louisiana when a car accident leaves her without the use of her legs and she discovers the mysteries of her own birth and must confront a ghost. Mark Webber, David Andrews and Joelle Carter are co-starring. Robert Ben Garant (A Night at the Museum, The Pacifier) has written the film’s script and Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is producing the project. The movie marks Sanko’s fourth feature for Lionsgate following Rabbit Hole, The Possession (which is currently playing in theaters) and the upcoming Nurse 3-D. Jessabelle is expected to be released in 2013.

Three new movies are opening wide this week:
Already in theaters since Wednesday is the gangster movie Lawless directed by John Hillcoat, based on the novel The Wettest County in the World by Matt Bondurant and starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowski. The film’s music is composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis who formed the band The Bootleggers (which also includes Martyn Casey, George Vjestic and David Sardy) for the project. Anton Sanko to Score ‘Nurse 3-D’
Anton Sanko is scoring the upcoming horror thriller Nurse 3-D. The movie is directed by Doug Aarniokoski (The Day, Highlander Endgame) and stars Paz De La Huerta (Boardwalk Empire) as a nurse who uses her sexuality to indulge a sinister side that finds her punishing dishonest men. Katrina Bowden, Corbin Bleu and Judd Nelson are co-starring in the film. David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) has written the screenplay and Marc Bienstock is producing the Lionsgate Entertainment production. Sanko has most recently scored the horror thriller The Possession starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kyra Sedgwick for the studio. Nurse 3-D is currently in post-production and no release date has been announced yet.

Sam Raimi is among the movie’s producers through his Ghost House Pictures production company. The film will be released nationwide on August 31 by Lionsgate.
‘Great Migrations’ Soundtrack Details
Nat Geo Music has released a soundtrack album for the seven-episode nature documentary mini-series Great Migrations. The album features the original score from the series by composer Anton Sanko (Rabbit Hole, HBO’s Big Love). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Great Migrations narrated by Alec Baldwin about the great migrations of animals across the globe premiered on the National Geographic Channel in the fall of 2010. The mini-series won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Cinematography for a Series. All episodes are now available on Blu-Ray and DVD.
Anton Sanko to Score ‘The Possession’
Anton Sanko has signed on to score next year’s horror thriller The Possession. The movie directed by Ole Bornedal (Nightwatch, I Am Dina) stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a recently divorced father whose youngest daughter becomes strangely connected to an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. As the daughter’s behavior becomes more erratic, the father senses a dark presence building until he discovers that the box was built to contain a dibbuk – a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host. Kyra Sedgwick, Grant Show and Madison Davenport are co-starring in the film which was originally entitled Dibbuk Box. Sam Raimi and Bob Tapert are producing via Ghost House Pictures.
