MovieScore Media’s Screamworks Records has released a soundtrack album for the mystery thriller The Tall Man. The album features the film’s original music composed by Todd Bryanton, Joel Douek and Golden Globe-nominated composer Christopher Young (The Shipping News, Spider-Man 3). The soundtrack has been released today and is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips from the score. The Tall Man is written and directed by Pascal Laugier and stars Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie and William B. Davis. The movie is set in a mining town where children are vanishing without a trace and are thought of being abducted by a mysterious entity known locally as “The Tall Man.” The thriller opened in US theaters on August 31 and is also available on Video on Demand.

Three new movies are opening wide this week:
Already in theaters since Wednesday is the gangster movie Lawless directed by John Hillcoat, based on the novel The Wettest County in the World by Matt Bondurant and starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowski. The film’s music is composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis who formed the band The Bootleggers (which also includes Martyn Casey, George Vjestic and David Sardy) for the project. Opening wide today is the horror thriller The Possession directed by Ole Bornedal, produced by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures and starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kyra Sedgwick, Grant Show and Madison Davenport. Anton Sanko (Rabbit Hole, Big Love) has composed the film’s score. Lionsgate Records has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s music earlier this week. Jeff Danna to Score ‘The Tall Man’
Jeff Danna has signed on to write the music for the mystery thriller The Tall Man. The film is the English-language feature debut of writer/director Pascal Laugier (Martyrs, House of Voices) and stars Jessica Biel as a nurse living in a small town where children have gone missing over the years. When her own child goes missing, a desperate chase begins, leading her to confront the secret of the identity of the Tall Man and what happens to the children. The movie co-stars Jodelle Ferland (Eclipse), Stephen McHattie (Watchmen, 300) and William B. Davis (The X-Files).
