Hans Zimmer has won his fifth Grammy Award for his score from Dune Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category at today’s 67th Annual Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony in Los Angeles. He was previously honored with a Grammy in the same category for his music for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight. Jon Batiste & Dan Wilson received the award for the original song It Never Went Away from the documentary American Symphony in the Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media category.

Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Wednesday is the animated musical comedy Wish directed by Chris Buck & Fawn Veerasunthorn and starring Ariana DeBose, Chris Pine, Angelique Cabral, Victor Garber, Alan Tudyk, Natasha Rothwell, Harvey Guillén, Evan Peters and Ramy Youseff. The film’s original songs are written by Julia Michaels & Benjamin Rice and the movie’s original score is composed by Dave Metzger (Brother Bear 2, Tarzan & Jane). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs last week and has also released a separate deluxe edition featuring both songs and score on Wednesday. Also playing in theaters nationwide since Wednesday is the historical drama Napoleon directed by Ridley Scott and starring Joaquin Phoenix, Vanessa Kirby, Tahar Rahim, Edouard Philipponnat, Rupert Everett, Catherine Walker and Ludivine Sagnier. Martin Phipps (The Crown, Victoria, Woman in Gold, The Honourable Woman, War & Peace, The Aftermath) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Jon Batiste’s Original Song ‘It Never Went Away’ from Netflix’s ‘American Symphony’ Released
Verve Records and Interscope Records have released the original song It Never Went Away from the Netflix original documentary American Symphony. The track co-written and -produced (with Dan Wilson) and performed by Grammy Award- and Academy Award-winning musician/composer Jon Batiste (Soul, The First Wave, She Ball) and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. American Symphony is directed by Matthew Heineman and explores a year in the life of Batiste as he attempts to compose a symphony while his wife, writer Suleika Jaouad, undergoes cancer treatment.
