Milan Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the Amazon anthologhy series Modern Love. The album features both score music and original songs from the show’s second season. Executive music producer Gary Clark and series showrunner, director, writer & executive producer John Carney have written both instrumental music and original vocal tracks featuring performances by Rosie Carney, Nerina Pallot, John Byrne and ANDERMO. The record also features songs written and performed by Andy Shauf, Chong the Nomad, Morcheeba’s Skye Edwards, Clark and Gregor Philip, as well as score tracks by Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Indignation), Philip and Brian Byrne (Albert Nobbs, Boychoir). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Revenant, Little Buddha, Snake Eyes). Also included is the original song Born to Be by Devonté Hynes. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 13 and is now available for pre-order here. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish Amazon original series El Cid. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first two seasons composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries, 21 Grams) & Alfonso G. Aguilar (Klaus, Perdida, You Shall Not Sleep, O21). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. El Cid is created by José Velasco & Luis Arranz and stars Jaime Lorente, Álvaro Rico, Jaime Olías, Alicia Sanz, Juan Echanove and Amparo Alcazar. The World Soundtrack Academy has announced the nominees for the 2021 World Soundtrack Awards in the categories of Film Composer of the Year, TV Composer of the Year and Best Original Song Written Directly for a Film. The winners will be announced at the 21st World Soundtrack Awards ceremony, which will take place in the Opera of Ghent on, October 23, 2021. Max Richter has previously been announced as guest of honor and Eleni Karaindrou will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award 2021. The rest of the nominations will be revealed in early September. Apple Video Programming will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Mr. Corman. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Nathan Johnson (Knives Out, Brick, Looper, The Brothers Bloom, Don Jon, Kill the Messenger). Also included are songs performed by series creator/star Joseph Gordon-Levitt and cast members Debra Winger, Juno Temple and Bobby Hall a.k.a. Logic. The full details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature Vivo have been revealed. The album features the original songs from the movie written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In the Heights, Moana). Also included are selections of the film composed by Alex Lacamoire (Fosse/Verdon) who also serves as the project’s executive music producer. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 6 by Atlantic Records and will be available to stream/download here. The album features the songs from the movie by artists such as Mariah Carey, Fred Astaire, Digital Underground, Mama Cass, Frankie Valli & others.
