‘The Velvet Underground’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Republic Records/UMe will release a soundtrack album for the documentary The Velvet Underground. The album is curated by the film’s director Todd Haynes (Carol, Far from Heaven) and music supervisor Randall Poster (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Irishman) and features well-known and rare tracks from the band, as well as songs and performances that influenced the group, including the rock n’ roll of Bo Diddley ,the doo-wop of The Diablos and the avant-garde compositions of La Monte Young. eOne Music UK & First Artist Recordings will release a new soundtrack album for the BBC drama Back to Life. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Joe Wilson of Solomon Grey (The Last Post, The Casual Vacancy). Also included are songs by Ben Cocks, Mary Margaret O’Hara Imogen Rose & others. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 17 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first soundtrack album featuring Solomon Grey’s music from Season 1 was released back in 2019. Back to Life is created by Laura Solon & Daisy Haggard and stars Haggard herself, Geraldine James, Richard Durden, Adeel Akhtar, Jamie Michie, Christine Bottomley and Jo Martin. ‘Man of God’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Caldera Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Greek biographical drama Man of God. The album features the film’s original music composed by Zbigniew Preisner (Three Colors, When a Man Loves a Woman, The Secret Garden, Forgotten We’ll Be). Lisa Gerrard (Gladiator, Whale Rider) co-wrote several tracks and is also featured as a vocalist on the score. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Raf Keunen (Bullhead, Racer and the Jailbird, The Spy, Over Water, Just a Sigh). This past week, Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, A Wrinkle in Time, Clash of the Titans) has been recording his score for the upcoming action comedy The Man from Toronto. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes (The Hitman’s Bodyguard, The Expendables 3) and stars Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, Kaley Cuoco, Ellen Barkin, Jasmine Mathews, Pierson Fode, Melanie Liburd, Lela Loren, Alejandro De Hoyos and Tomohisa Yamashita. The movie revolves around a case of mistaken identity after the world’s deadliest assassin and a stranger run into each other at an Airbnb rental. Robbie Fox (So I Married an Axe Murderer, Playing for Keeps) & Chris Bremmer wrote the screenplay based on a story by Fox and Jason Blumenthal (The Equalizer, The Pursuit of Happyness). The only movie opening nationwide this week is the supernatural horror thriller Candyman co-written and directed by Nia DaCosta and starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Colman Domingo, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Vanessa Williams and Tony Todd. The film’s original music is composed by Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe. Waxwork Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score in various formats today. Opening semi-wide in around 250 theaters is the British comedy drama Together directed by Stephen Daldry and starring James McAvoy and Sharon Horgan. Paul Englishby (An Education, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Sunshine on Leith, Luther, The Musketeers) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie centers on two partners who are forced to re-evaluate themselves and their relationship through the reality of lockdown. Andrea Datzman & Curtis Green have composed the original score for the new Disney+ shorts series Dug Days. The show is written and directed by Bob Peterson (Up, Finding Nemo, Cars 3) and follows the misadventures of Dug, the lovable dog from the Disney/Pixar feature Up ,whose high-tech collar translates his thoughts into speech. Each short features everyday events that occur in and around Dug’s backyard, all through the eyes of the title character. Kim Collins is producing the Pixar Animation Studios production.
