Terence Blanchard (Malcolm X, BlacKkKlansman, 25th Hour, Inside Man, The Woman King, Perry Mason, Da 5 Bloods, Love & Basketball, Red Tails) has composed the original score for the upcoming period crime thriller By Any Means. The film is directed by Elegance Bratton (The Inspection) and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Mark Wahlberg, Nicole Beharie, Josh Lucas, LisaGay Hamilton, Ethan Embry, LaChanze, David Strathairn and Giancarlo Esposito. The movie, which also features an original title by Diane Warren, is inspired by a true story and follows a young Black FBI agent who is sent into 1960s Mississippi to investigate a wave of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders and finds himself pulled into a deadly hunt where justice and vengeance begin to blur. Sascha Penn (Power Book III: Raising Kanan, 1992) wrote the screenplay. Bratton & Wahlberg are also producing the Hammerston Studios, Thunder Road Films, Freedom Principle & Municipal Pictures production with Alex Lebovici (Bill & Ted Face the Music, Boy Kills World), Chester Algernal Gordon (), Basil Iwanyk & Erica Lee (John Wick series, Sicario) and Stephen Levinson (Entourage, The Family Plan). By Any Means will be released in theaters nationwide on September 4, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.
