Premiering on Tuesday, July 26, is the Argentine limited series Santa Evita developed by Marcela Guerty & Pamela Rementaria and starring Natalia Oreiro, Ernesto Alterio, Francesc Orella, Diego Velázquez and Darío Grandinetti. The show’s original music is composed by Federico Jusid (The Secret In Their Eyes, Watership Down, Kidnap, The Head, Loving Pablo, Life Itself). Premiering on Wednesday, July 27, is the Disney+ documentary series Light & Magic directed by Lawrence Kasdan, executive produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Justin Wilkes, Kathleen Kennedy & Michelle Rejwan about Industrial Light & Magic, the special visual effects, animation and virtual production division of Lucasfilm. Lorne Balfe (Black Widow, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials, The Wheel of Time, The LEGO Batman Movie) is composing the original music for the upcoming superhero movie Black Adam. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise, Non-Stop) and stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Pierce Brosnan, Noah Centineo, Quintessa Swindell, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari and Bodhi Sabongui. The movie tells the story of the titular anti-hero who first appeared in DC Comics in the 1940s as a power-corrupt villain and slowly became an anti-hero by the 2000s, known for his disregard of rules and conventions. Opening in theaters nationwide this week is the horror epic Nope written, directed and produced by Jordan Peele and starring Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Abels (Get Out, Us, Allen v. Farrow, Bad Education, Nightbooks, See You Yesterday). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie today. Opening in select U.S. theaters today is the French adventure comedy My Donkey, My Lover & I (Antoinette dans les Cévennes) written and directed by Caroline Vignal and starring Laure Calamy, Benjamin Lavernhe and Olivia Côte. Matei Bratescot (Les vetos) has composed the film’s original music. The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Midnight Mass, The Forever Purge, Life of Crime, The Walking Dead: World Beyond) are scoring Marvel Studios’ upcoming animated series X-Men ’97. The show is a revival of Fox’s X-Men: The Animated Series, which premiered between 1992 and 1997, and stars original series voice cast members, including Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Alison Sealy-Smith, Chris Potter, Catherine Disher, Adrian Hough, and Christopher Britton. The album features the film’s original music composed by Enis Rotthoff (Guns Akimbo, Love, Sarah, The Sunlit Night, The Price, Wetlands). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. The Good Neighbor is directed by Stephan Rick and stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Luke Kleintank, Eloise Smyth and Bruce Davidson. Netflix announced today that Cliff Martinez (Traffic, Contagion, Solaris, Game Night), Peter Peter (Antboy, Over the Edge) and Julian Winding are composing the original music for the upcoming Danish Netflix neo-noir series Copenhagen Cowboy. The show is created and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn and stars Angela Bundalovic, Lola Corfixen, Zlatko Buric, Andreas Lykke Jørgensen, Jason Hendil-Forssell, Dragana Milutinovic, Li Ii Zhang, Mikael Bertelsen and Mads Brügge. Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+’s ‘Surface’ to Be Released

Mercury KX will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Surface. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ólafur Arnalds (Broadchurch, Defending Jacob, Moonhaven, Electric Dreams, Chasing the Present). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, July 29 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first track (Video Tape) is already available to stream/download now and can also be checked out after the jump. Surface is created by Veronica West and stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Stephan James, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Ari Graynor, François Arnaud and Millie Brady. The psychological thriller is set in high-end San Francisco and revolves around a woman suffering from extreme memory loss who embarks on a quest to put the pieces of her life back together. Arcadia Motion Pictures & Athos Pictures have released a soundtrack album for the Spanish comedy A Boyfriend for My Wife (Un Novio para Mi Mujer). The album features the film’s original music composed by Alfred Tapscott (The Barcelona Vampiress, Superagente Makey, You Keep the Kids, The Wedding Unplanner). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. A Boyfriend for My Wife is co-written and directed by Laura Mañá and stars Belén Cuesta, Diego Martín, Joaquín Reyes, Hugo Silva, Eric Masip and Ángela Cervantes. The movie is a remake of the 2008 Argentine feature of the same title and follows a man who is trying to get rid of his lovely but insufferable wife by finding her a boyfriend. Parlophone Records has released the theme song from the new Apple TV+ original series Best Foot Forward. The track, entitled Bring It On, co-written (with Mark Elliott) and performed by Victoria Canal is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon.
