The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has confirmed that four of the five Oscar-nominated original songs will be performed live at this Sunday’s 94th Academy Awards ceremony. Beyoncé‘ will perform the end titles track Be Alive from Reinaldo Marcus Green’s King Richard, Billie Eilish & Finneas O’Donnell will perform their Grammy Award-winning title song from No Time to Die, Reba McEntire will perform the Diane Warren-penned Somehow You Do from Rodrigo Garcia’s Four Good Days and Sebastián Yatra will perform the Lin-Manuel Miranda-written Dos Oruguitas from Disney’s animated feature Encanto. Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated shorts series Ice Age: Scrat Tales. The album features the original score from the show composed by Batu Sener who has previously scored this year’s movie The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. Also included is an original end titles track composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Bourne Identity, Happy Feet) who composed the music for three of the original theatrical Ice Age features. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 25 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Taylor Swift has recorded an original song for the upcoming thriller Where the Crawdads Sing. The track, entitled Carolina, is written and performed by Swift and is featured in the film’s first trailer, which just premiered today and can be checked out after the jump. The movie adaptation of Delia Owens’ bestselling novel is directed by Olivia Newman and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer, Jr. and David Strathairn. As previously reported, Mychael Danna has composed the original score for the 3000 Pictures film produced by Reese Witherspoon & Lauren Neustadter, which will be released in theaters nationwide on July 15 by Sony Pictures.
