HBO Max and Cartoon Network announced today that Tony Award winner Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, Freaky Friday, Bring It On, If/Then, High Fidelity) will compose the music for the animated movie event Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Tunes Musical. The Warner Bros. Animation production follows an exhausted Bugs Bunny who – after starring in a long-running Looney Tunes Broadway smash production – decides it’s time to trade in sold-out shows for life as a regular rabbit, as Daffy Duck attempts to step into the lead role. David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies, Hot Fuzz) is set to score The Storm Whale Trilogy, three half-hour animated specials based on the children’s books by Benji Davies. The three specials, The Storm Whale, The Storm Whale in Winter and Grandma Bird, are written and directed by Robin Shaw (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt), produced by Lupus Films and tell the story of a young boy living on a small island with only some sleepy cats and shy sea creatures for company while his father is out to catch fish, when a baby whale washes up on the island. Hollywood Records has released a new soundtrack EP for the Hulu original series Love, Victor. The EP features three original songs from the show’s third and final season co-written and -produced by Brett McLaughlin (aka Leland): Mission performed by Vincent, Armageddon by Black Polish and Dinner by Grag Queen, as well as a cover of Yazoo’s Only You performed by Jonah Mutono. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1996 comedy The First Wives Club directed by Hugh Wilson and starring Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton, Maggie Smith, Dan Hedaya, Bronson Pinchot and Marcia Gay Harden. The album features the expanded and remastered original Academy Award-nominated original score from the Paramount Pictures release composed by Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, A Few Good Men, Mary Poppins Returns, Sister Act, City Slickers, Misery, The Addams Family), including previously unreleased music. The full details of the soundtrack album for Pixar Animation Studios’ feature Lightyear have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, The Incredibles, Star Trek, RatatouilleSpider-Man: No Way Home, Inside Out, The Batman, Jurassic World).
