Showtime has released two soundtracks for the musical episode of the Showtime original series The L Word: Generation Q. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is a 6-track EP featuring the songs from the sixth episode episode of the show’s third season written by series composers Heather McIntosh (Compliance, The Art of Self-DefenseZ for Zachariah) & Allyson Newman (Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound, Kusama: Infinity) and Academy Award-nominated songwriter Taura Stinson and performed by members of the show’s cast (also listen to all songs below). M.E.S. Productions & Gaumont have released a soundtrack album for the French comedy drama The Island Bird (Le petit piaf). The album features the film’s original score composed by Jean-François Berger. Baird on the new ITV/BritBox limited series Stonehouse. The show is written by John Preston (A Very English Scandal), directed by Baird (Filth) and stars Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes, Kevin R. McNally and Emer Heatley. The 3-part drama chronicles the rise and fall of MP John Stonehouse, a high-flying member of Harold Wilson’s Labour government and a seemingly devoted family man, whose perfect life spirals out of control in the early 1970s amid rumors of fraud and espionage. The albums feature selections of the original music from the show’s third and fourth season composed by Christopher Bear (of the indie rock band Grizzly Bear). The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) has announced the nominees for the 4th Annual SCL Awards, which will take place on February 15th at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The final round of voting will commence on January 9, 2023. The Spirit of Collaboration and Jury Award winners will be announced in early January.

Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s limited series Treason. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Jamie Salisbury (The Dead End, Up All Night). The film is written and directed by Andrew Durham and stars Emilia Jones, Scoot McNairy, Geena Davis, Cody Fern, Adam Lambert and Maria Bakalova. The movie based on Alysia Abbott’s 2013 memoir of the same is set in 1970s and 1980 San Francisco and centers on a young girl growing up with her father – widowed poet and gay activist Steve Abbott – amid the AIDS epidemic.
