Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the comedy Book Club: The Next Chapter directed by Bill Holderman and starring Mary Steenburgen, Diane Keaton, Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda, Andy Garcia and Craig T. Nelson. The film’s original score is composed by Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, Daisy Jones and the Six, Shrinking, Early Man). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song co-written by Steenburgen today. Also opening nationwide is the action thriller Hypnotic directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Ben Affleck, Alice Braga, JD Pardo, Hala Finley, Dayo Okeniyi,William Fichtner, Jeff Fahey and Jackie Earle Haley. Rebel Rodriguez (We Can Be Heroes, Red 11) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. Edwin Wendler (I Spit on Your Grave: Vengeance Is Mine, Unnatural, Dead Ant, Tales of Halloween, Dragon Soldiers) has recently been scoring the upcoming international motion picture DreamScapes. The film is written and directed by Christian Machacek, narrated by Kate Winslet and produced by Klemens Hallmann (Frankenstein, Army of Thieves, The Song of Names). The “United Earth Project” was captured by more than 250 video artists in more than 100 countries around the globe and tells a story about our planet through visuals that show the beauty and diversity of Mother Earth in time and motion, accompanied by a soundtrack that allows the viewer to experience the images more intensely. NBC announced today that Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Dune, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, Interstellar) will contribute music to the upcoming natural history event series The Americas. The 10-parter is narrated by Tom Hanks and will employ revolutionary filmmaking technology that will showcase the wonders, fragilities and secrets of the Americas – Earth’s largest landmass and the only one to stretch between both poles – and reveal untold wildlife stories that deeply connect with millions around the world. ‘Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.’ Season 2 Soundtrack EP Released

Hollywood Records has released a new soundtrack EP for the Disney+ original series Doogie Kamealoha, M.D. The 4-track EP features four songs from the show’s second season performed by series composer Wendy Wang , including two original songs written by Wang and covers of Death Cab for Cutie’s I Will Follow You Into the Dark and Dixie Chicks’ Wide Open Spaces. Sky Music (SATV) has released a soundtrack album for the British thriller Dead Shot. The album features the film’s original score composed by Max de Wardener (The Woman in the Fifth, The Power, Village at the End of the World). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Dead Shot is directed by Charles Guard & Thomas Guard and stars Aml Ameen, Colin Morgan, Sophia Brown, Mark Strong and Felicity Jones. The movie follows a retired Irish paramilitary who witnesses the fatal shooting of his pregnant wife and takes his revenge to the dark and paranoid streets of 1970s London. Why Not Productions has released a soundtrack album for the French historical drama Jeanne du Barry. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love, Billy Elliott, Proof, Quills, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Jeanne du Barry is directed by Maïwenn and stars Maïwenn herself, Johnny Depp, Melvil Poupaud, Benjamin Lavernhe, Pierre Richard, Pascal Greggory and India Hair. WaterTower Music has released the first two tracks from the soundtrack for the superhero movie The Flash. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services are the tracks Worlds Collide & Run written by the film’s composer Benjamin Wallfisch (It, The Invisible Man, Shazam!, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Mortal Kombat). Record producer/musician Nigel Godrich is attached to compose the music for the upcoming thriller Dreamquil. The film marks the feature directorial debut of contemporary artist Alex Prager and will star Elizabeth Banks and John C. Reilly. The movie is set in the not so distant future when poor air quality has meant people mostly live their lives virtually from home and follows a dissatisfied career mother who leaps at the chance to get her life back on track by signing up for an avant-garde A.I.-led mental wellness retreat.
